Ford Focus 2007 — 

I got this car as an alternative to taking a minivan everywhere.  It's not a luxury vehicle, but you can't beat the value.  It has great gas mileage and has great reliability ratings.  yes, some of the styles look rather homely.  Find a focus with a rear spoiler and you'll have yourself a sporty looking little car taht beats a minivan anyday.
