Most HelpfulI've owned my 2001 Ford Focus SE (Sedan) for three years now and it has been a great car to own. I've been very pleased with it especially for it's reliability and lack of mechanical problems. In the three years that I've owned it, it has rarely been in the shop for anything more than an oil change and to have the fluids topped off.
This car has also been fairly good for gas mileage - averaging around 30 mpg on the highway and 25 in the city. Overall, this is a just a really good car and will be ideal for college students and single parents. I wouldn't recommend it for familes with more than 4 members....
I bought my ford focus from joe machens, for a considerably cheap price. The biggest problem with my 2001 model is that it needs constant repairs and as of right now the alternator went out and it's going to cost me at least $450 to get it replaced and thats not for a brand new alteration, thats for a rebuilt one. A month ago I had to replace my battery and 3 weeks after i got it, my battery kept dying [probably due to my alternator going bad]. Under the hood it is tightly packed with whatever makes a car run, my dad says that this is not usually a good thing due to if you need to replace...
review »This is by far the worst car we have ever owned! From day one we had trouble with it. It ate up the tires, it was extremely noisy on the interstate, it idled very rough, and there was always something wrong with it. Do not buy this car.
