We've had our 2001 Ford Focus ZX3 for 5 years now. The only problem we've ever had was a bad sensor and a minor problem with the starter. Both understandable in a 6yo vehicle. This car is perfect for our daily commute! I keep track of each tank of gas to see what kind of mileage we are getting - we average about 33 mpg, which includes plenty of city driving. — — When we had kids, we had to graduate to a bigger vehicle to haul car seats around - they do fit in the back of this two-door hatchback. I adore my Focus! I have the ZX3, and I love its sportiness. It's so much fun to drive, and it rarely has problems. I'm approaching 80000 miles on it now and it's still just as great as when I first bought it. Since mine is the hatchback, it has a ton of space. I had this car throughout college and was able to fit so much stuff in it when I moved back and forth from home to my dorm. …

This is by far the worst car we have ever owned! From day one we had trouble with it. It ate up the tires, it was extremely noisy on the interstate, it idled very rough, and there was always something wrong with it. Do not buy this car. —…
