I've had this car since october and it is falling appart. As soon as I repair one thing another thing goes!!!

That's too bad...we've had our 99 Escort since 2001, and we've had to replace the alternator twice and the tie rods twice, but other than that, we've had a really good experience with ours. Maybe they made some improvements between 97 and 99...Bummer that yours isn't working out. :(
