Ford Escape Hybrid - 2007 Review

This is a great vehicle if you need or want a larger vehicle-this is a small SUV.  We get roughly 30 plus miles per gallon which is outstanding for a vehicle this size.  The engine is a tad noisy-has the "Ford truck" sound especially when accelerating uphill or on the highway.  The electric battery kicks in shutting off the engine when you stop and you can accelerate slowly up to about 30 miles per hour before the engine comes back on.  When idling such as in stop and go traffic it will run on battery for a couple of minutes, then kick on the engine to recharge the battery.  Doesn't run on battery as long as some other hybrids that are smaller, but it's a start.  We will never purchase another vehicle that doesn't incorporate some type of hybrid or alternative fuel technology.
