I traded in a gas engine V-G Escape (2002) for the Hybrid version. I liked the V-6 in every respect but gas mileage...I was getting 17-18 city driving. In this respect the Hybrid has been great. I have the AWD vesrion and am averaging 29+ MPG even with ethanol gas. I've had some problems...ABS master unit and AC compressor were replaced under warranty. The Hybrid is much quieter and seems to have better interior materials than the 2002. Negatives? Towing, if that is an issue,....1000 lbs max and the fact the AC only rus when the gas engine is…

not rich, practical, living in the country
I owned a 2006 Escape Hybrid for 2 years. It got great gas mileage and was a pretty good ride. I live out in the country and critters were able to get up into the area under the dash ( that you can't get to) and build a nest. I was disappointed in this - it was not sealed very well. — The interior was nice - as the vehicle was loaded. I missed the heated seats, which I had in an earlier vehicle.
