Just purchased my latest ford econoline passenger van. I have had four of them in the past 10 years. This latest model was a 7 passenger model designated Chateau. This vehicle was fully loaded as were the previous models. I have stuck with the ford van because the only other alternative was a general motors product. The previous models i owned were pretty much as expected for a full size van type vehicle. Maintenance was average and the previous vans held up pretty well past the 100,000 mile mark. At about the 120,000 mile mark they then seem to require major maintenance. Transmissions, water pumps, coolings lines and yes even one with a cracked frame. The latest 2007 model I received 6 months ago was not a real winner. Interior parts were missing on delivery, a transmission bolt was left out, tires were hard and very noisy. Now remember that this is not a work vehicle, it is a 7 passenger van for road trips. I realize that this is really  a work type vehicle but in the past the ride and fit and finish were totally different when i ordered the passenger model. Engines seem to hold up very well and fuel mileage is in the 15 - 18 MPG range.
