Food Saver Vacuum sealer V3840 Reviews

The Food Saver #3840 was purchased to replace an older model of Food Saver, which lasted 11 years.  I love the look (stainless), and the vertical position so it takes up LESS counter space.  Has a retractable hose for sealing canisters, so it doesn't get misplaced.

It automatically pulls the bag in to vacuum and seal and shuts off when it is finished.  Great product!!!!!!

This unit is in FoodSaver's top-of-the-line model line.

After several years of dealing with the cheaper FooSaver units breaking down too often too soon, I decided to give the FoodSaver line one more try by buying one of their top models!

The cheapers ones seem to constantly break down too prematurely. The units would vacuum suck the air out, but they wouldn't seal the bags - an indication that the heat-seal strip had died too early! This is very aggravating, since the units aren't reall cheap pricewise, but I think they are very cheaply made!
