This unit is in FoodSaver's top-of-the-line model line.

After several years of dealing with the cheaper FooSaver units breaking down too often too soon, I decided to give the FoodSaver line one more try by buying one of their top models!

The cheapers ones seem to constantly break down too prematurely. The units would vacuum suck the air out, but they wouldn't seal the bags - an indication that the heat-seal strip had died too early! This is very aggravating, since the units aren't reall cheap pricewise, but I think they are very cheaply made!

In order to try to combat this annoying problem with the heater strip failing so blasted soon, I figured that if I buy one of their top models, that it would last longer.

This unit has it all! You no longer have to manually lock the bags down in the unit, you no longer have to aim the open end of the bag down into the vacuum chamber, and for most vacuum sealing, you don't even have to press the Seal button! It might look pretty complicated, but I found it very easy to do simple vacuum sealing!

For most jobs, all you do is press the power button, insert the open end of the bags into the vacuum seling chamber and the machine automatically does the rest! It gently grabs the bag, sucks out the air for an air-tight seal, then it heat-seals the bag. What else could be easier?!

I like it's gleaming shiny stainless steel front, ultra-modern space-age futuristic sleek design and control panel. Gone are the days when you've had to hold both eands of a unit down, manually lock the lid and aim the open end on the bags down into the vacuum chamber! It's simplicity in and of itself! I just hope that it lasts longer than the older cheaper units. I'm still doubtful of it's reliability though I'll update this review  in time, as time go by.
