Worth the price

Great product. Saves food waste, shortens cooking and/or food prep times.

Product does require a bit of effort on the user's part.

Use caution when vacuum sealing items with even a small amount of liquid. Best to slightly pre-freeze to avoid rubber gasket around sealing component getting wet. Once this gets wet it could ruin the seal.

FoodSaver vacuum sealer works great to keep foods fresh longer. Foods frozen, refrigerated or even shelf stored can be vacuum sealed to keep fresh longer. Works on other items such as camping gear and clothes to keep them clean and dry. Simple to use and easy to wipe off when you are done. Great way to buy in bulk and breakdown to small quantities without it going stale. FoodSaver bags are expensive so we have tried a few after-market bags and they work fine too.

Use this Food Saver Vacuum Sealer and start saving money. Even items that absorb odors (like cheesecake) stay fresh and tasty in the sealed bags. They are great for cooking your food--straight from the freezer. You can even re-use the bags (not after cooking in them or using them for raw meats). It's my favorite kitchen gadget. I'm so glad that I have it.

The Best Product Ever!

I cannot reccomend this product enough! We were sceptical about buying an infomercial product but this one does EXACTLY what it says! You can make veggies, cheese even pet food last much longer! Also great to put clothes in for float trips as the bags are air/water tight.

I've had this for about 8 months and am so very happy with it. I buy in bulk and its nice to be able to not have to throw away food. Especially cheeses...I buy some pretty expensive ones and split up in packages that each last a couple of weeks. Its great for meats and freezing leftovers. I particularly like to take meat and before I freeze it I will put a rub on it and the vacuum really pulls it into the meat. I also use it for marinating. Instead of marinating for a day you can do it in an hour. For very liquid marinades you should purchase the special marinating container or you will be sucking... review »

I am reviewing the Food Saver Vacuum Sealer (V2480). My husband and I received this for an anniversary gift and after one year of sitting on the shelf in the garage, I took it out and used it! I had purchased a whole beef tenderloin and didn't trust the zipper bags to keep it safe. I love the Food Saver! My husband had a great time figuring out how to use it and then actually use it successfully. It is easy to use, easy to clean up and really does the job of vacuum sealing. We have been using it like crazy since we opened it up! I recommend this highly!

I was given this as a wedding gift 4 years ago. We have used the vaccum sealer every summer. We go pick blueberries and strawberries at local farms and then we freeze them. I like that the vaccum sucks all the air out between the berries. It would be impossible to squeeze the air out using Ziploc bags. Our berries stay nice and fresh. We use them throughout the winter then to make smoothies. My 2 year old son LOVE smoothies!

I saw this item on TV for years, but would never spring for it. I even tried a less expensive knock-off, which didn't work at all. Finally, late at night QVC got me with the easy pay option!

Everything they say about the item is so true! It's well worth it - even for just the space it buys you in the freezer. I use it after after every shopping trip.

I bought the food saver because I was getting tired of freezer burn. All you have to do is either buy bags or you can get a roll and make them to the size you need. Then just press the correct button and put the foo away it's that easy! I like the fact that you can buy in bulk and save money. The money you will save with this product is worth the cost.

My Dad bought this for me and I used it for the first time yesterday. Not only did I have fun using it but it will save me so much on groceries. It is easy to use and well worth the money. I think I will even be able to get the kids used to using it. I will be preparing my meals in advance and see how well this works out.
