We were looking for a replacement colander because our previous one had rusted when the paint chipped off. So we wanted something that was not made of steal and would not rust. I was a bit hesitant when I saw this style of collapsible colander, but when we decided to give it a try, we have found that it is wonderful. Durability Even after collapsing and opening it several times, it has shown little signs of wear or damage. Design We have a sink that is divided into two sections instead of a single wide sink. This colander fits well between the outside sink edge and the middle divider of the sink. It is easy to rest there while we fill it and let it drain or use the sprayer on the sink to rinse off the food that is inside (such as with pasta). I also like the collapsible design. It does take up much less space in the cupboard, and it also sits flat and allows other things to be stacked on top.
