I cannot speak for all of the Golden Corral Chains but in my area their food is gross. There food is cold and looks days old.I love homestyle cooking but if this is homestyle then I would rather starve! Does anyone have bad one in their area?

I enjoy the Golden Corral in Winchester, VA. I'd go there anytime.

If you don't like Golden Corral's food, you should just go somewhere else.

I do believe me.I gave it two tries thinking maybe the cook was just bad for that particular day but when I went back it was just as bad here in Hickory NC so now i just go to Outback.

I've never tried Golden Corral. The only Golden Corral in NJ is about an hour from here, so we haven't bothered. BUT we see their ads on TV almost daily!

Since their quality doesn't seem to be consistent, I'll take them off my "must-try" list.

Me, me, me!!  I do!!!  Blech!  I know, Bob, just go to another restaurant, but my sister-in-law LOVES it, so as a supreme act of sacrifice, we go when she's in town.  I just have issues with buffets anyway...germs, temperatures aren't right, I can't eat my money's worth.

I love the slow cooked pot roast, mashed potatoes with gravy, yeast rolls, and the bourbon chicken. The carrot cake is also really good.

I avoid the grilled stuff as it's low end meats and tough.

The only thing I love from there is their bread and honey butter. That's it. I'm a carb-fan though, so you'll have to forgive me!

If you go there for breakfast, try the chunks of grapefruit. I could make a full meal out of those... YUM!

I do not think I have ever eaten at a Golden Corral.

Golden Corral is giving free meals to veterans and active duty tomorow - Veterans Day. Nice of them.

CyndiA took the words out of my mouth! Free veteran's meal (Monday here). I really think where the Golden Corral is determines how good it is. The one in Killeen, TX was always jam-packed and they couldn't keep up with filling the food bins and cooking steaks. I thought since the one in Boone, IA is in a small town the food would be lukewarm and crusty on the top from sitting out. They just made the buffet smaller and don't fill the trays so full so they get rotated and filled more often. Utah one was good... the only one I didn't like was in the Colorado Springs area.

The thing I hate about Golden Corral is that I never eat enough to justify the price. Mister has a hearty appetite, so sometimes we go, but buffets are usually not cost-efficient for us.
