I'll bet all (or most of us) have those little food passions - things we shouldn't have for various reasons but that we do from time to time.

What's your secret food that you know you ought not eat but still do from time to time?

It's not too secret but I l-o-v-e dark chocolate. Coffee ice cream is another weakness.

My mom used to make roast chicken with rice and gravy, and the whole meal was like dessert for me. I've found that Cracker Barrel restaurants now serve roast chicken, rice and gravy on Saturdays, and it's almost as good as mom used to make. Yum!

I like those big hard pretzels that are loaded with salt (looks like the salt they spread on icy sidewalks in winter time),  I like the crunchiness and yes, the salt. My teeth are not happy, but luckily my blood pressure is still good.

OMG! I could have written that! I love those pretzels and could eat several without feeling "done". I love pretzels of all kinds and really like those square butter snap ones. I also like soft warm pretzels with the salt. I have low blood pressure so I don't have to worry but I do bloat up when I eat a lot of salt. It's worth it though.

I have a crazy attachment to good, homemade macaroni salad. I rarely eat it because it is so high in fat and calories but I go crazy for it. If it's fresh and made with good ingredients, especially little shell macaroni and real mayo, I could make a meal out of it. Now I'm hungry!

Tell me you at least like peanut butter and we'll still be good :)

Now put the two together and I'm in heaven... Reeces peanut butter cups are my downfall.  Though if you had asked this question a year ago, it would have been Mexican food... specifically Taco Bell (I know it's not really mexican but close enough for the craving).

That's what my boys love too. Reese's. But we say Ree-cee in the South.

One thing though, you get a stale one and - yucko. The peanut butter crumbles instead of being creamy. It always takes me a year or two to get over it if I get one of those.

How many characters can we fit in this comment box? I could go on all day.

  • Chocolate Non-Perils
  • Twizzlers
  • CUPCAKES!
  • Chocolate Chip Cookie Cake with mucho frosting
  • English Muffin with peanut butter & Tupelo Honey's honey on top (my parents ship it to me from NC)

Okay, I'll stop. Obviously I have a sweet tooth problem.

I didn't know we were going to be so specific! As long as we're focusing in on certain things, I really like the peach pie from Hill High Orchards near Round Hill, VA. I can't drive by there without hearing the siren song of peach pie.

One of my old girlfriends used to love Ruffles and french vanilla ice cream.

I couldn't acquire a taste for it myself.

Probably why she's an ex g/f. d;-)

Homemade oatmeal chocolate chip cookie dough.

D-e-l-i-c-i-o-u-s!

A few months ago, I made about 3 batches over a month's span. I only baked a dozen cookies. You do the math.

And I wondered why I gained 10 pounds that month....

How do you know? Have you been looking in my cabinets?

OK. OK. I really love those Nestle drumstick ice creams (like Nuttie Buddies - but better). But those are in the freezer of course.

That's easy- it's ice cream. But it is certainly no secret. Ice cream is part of our weekly budget, just like milk, bread, and eggs.

I can only buy Jujubes once or twice a year because I absolutely cannot stop eating them. They aren't even that good but there's something about those little hard nuggets of...nothingness that make me crazy. I will promise to eat just 20 and even have my husband hide the box. Then I can't stand it and search until I find the box and eventually eat the whole thing. And I mean the big family size box.

Jujubes are the ONLY things that do that to me. I can control myself around anything else but those stupid things.

Ooohhh, I LOVE Swiss Cake Rolls!  I "hide" them in the freezer so I'm usually eating them frozen.  Good thing that they are cheap because it's easy to replace the "one" box that has been in the freezer for months now.  ;)

I love all sweets but chocolate cake with lots of white buttermilk frosting is my favorite.  I used to live in Maine where they had some awesome Whoopie Pies.  Add some ice cream and it was to-die-for.

Apparently my hubby does to!  I admit to a weakness for few things that are on the "bad" end of the food groups . . . .but if I had to admit to failings:

1) darn good ritas

2) beam and coke

3) mexican food (must be had about once a week ... or tex mex of course)

4). little debbie apple pies (the walmart brand has mini versions which saves me from myself.

5) twizzlers

6) but my all time most awful weakness is Jelly Belly's I can't quite eating them once I get started.  I will do just about anything (and I have!) for a bag of those sweet, chewy, beans.

I had a serious binge for about a month on lemon poppyseed scones with devonshire cream.  I would get them from 2 different bakeries (I didn't want the people in either to know what a fiend I was!) and then warm them in my oven and scoop out at least 2  tablespoons of the cream from the jar to spread all over them.  I can taste it now....

I have to admit that one day i was desperate for chocolate, so desperate that I ate all of my baking chocolate in the house and it is unsweetened, now that is a binge!
