Christmas really is coming around the corner, personally i bake a lot of cookies.  I really love a good shortbread cookie, but can't seem to find the right recipe.  Tell me friends, what is your favorite cookie, and can we share some recipes?

I'm going to make some cookies for a Halloween Night wedding, I've never made them before and I'll have to go dig up the recipe if you're interested. It is made with cake mix (any flavor) and whipped cream...sounded good, so I'm going to try making them!!

I will get back to you on cookie recipes.  this would be agreat place to put our faviorite recipes and share them.  Talked to the woman across the street and we decided to get a few of us together for a cookie exchange for Christmas this year, and her daughter is going to reserve their party room, it has 2 ovens microwave, tv ect.  We are going to bring the dough already to go, and then we will make some candy via the microwave and no back cookies so we will be able to get a lot of cookies, candy for everyone and have a great time maybe a few glasses of wine also!!!

Shortbread is one of my absolute favorites ~ anytime of year.  I don't have a recipe for it though ~ but I Googled these, there are a few variations:

http://www.joyofbaking.com/shortbreads/shortbread.html

Right now, I just want a bag of that Betty Crocker Choco Chip cookie mix to eat right out of the bag lol ~

I make cookies, and I also make Pistachio Cake, you'll need 3 boxes pistachio pudding mix ~ here we go:

Pistachio Cake

1 box white cake mix, 2 packages pistachio pudding, mix those two together.  Add 5 eggs, 1/2 cup each of milk, oil and water.  Bake @ 350 degrees F. for 40-45 minutes.

Topping:  1 pint whipping cream, 1 box pistachio pudding, mix until thick then fold in 8 ounces Cool Whip or store-brand whipped topping.

:) mmmmmmmm ~ SO simple & yummy~!  It's a little green too for the holiday colors.

Shortbread Cookie Recipe

 Preheat oven at 350 degrees

3/4 cup butter
1/4 cups sugar
2 cups flour

Cream butter and sugar. Work in flour. Roll dough 1/2-1/3 inch thick on lightly floured board. Cut into shapes. Place 1/2 inch apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake 20 minutes. Immediately remove from baking sheet.

Now that one sounds super easy peasy ~!

My boys like chocolate chip the best esp warm right out of the oven and they go wild for peanut butter fudge which isn't a cookie, or course, but yummy great stuff.

I and my son like all kinds of cookies but I like mine made into bars. They stay chewy longer that way I have some of those name brand baking products cookbooks if you want some sound good recipes let me know and I I'll dig them out of the drawer of cookbooks and look some up!!!! They all sound good in the book, but right now I have not the time to bake as much as I like!!

When my husband was in Iraq, I made - probably in the 100s- of Oatmeal Scotchies (an oatmeal butterscotch cookie). Because I kept getting request after request from soldiers wanting me to send them some. I made baked goods a few times a week for "the boys" in M Co. when they were stateside and those were the most favorite and the ones they hounded me for constantly. They used to call the Crack because they found them to be so addicting.

They are super sweet, and I actually don't care for them, so it was bad to spend hours baking cookies and not even getting to indulge in the batter.

The recipe can be found on the back of the package for Nestle Butterscotch Chips. I hope you have a stand mixer, because you need arms like Popeye to hold a blender for that thick of a batter for as long as it takes to mix it.

Crack cookies...lol ~ arms like Popeye, that I've got...fortunately.

Ok, now I MUST bake more shortbread cookies.  The Cookie Fairy STOLE all my other ones ;)
