Nutella Hazelnut Spread 13oz

Nutella Hazelnut Spread 13oz
a chocoholic

NOV

2009

If you haven't tried Nutella, the hazelnut spread you need to run, not walk to put it on your shopping list.  It is the most amazingly delicious treat.  It hits the spot when you're having a chocolate craving, whether you spread it on toast, bagels, crepes, croissants or even just got for it right out of the jar with a spoon.

Unfortunately it's high in calories and fat, but what is life without a little splurging right?  It's a great treat once in a while or for guests and holidays.

Fiber One - Chewy Bars

Health conscious but busy

Fiber One's Chocolate & Mocha Chewy Bars are so delicious I look forward to them for lunch or breakfast.  This is one of the most delicious ways to get 9g of fiber I've ever had.  At only 140 calories and 4g of fat per bar I don't have to feel guilty about enjoying such a delicious snack.  If you love the flavor of coffee you've got to try these chewy gems.

Kashi Red Curry Chicken

Kashi Red Curry Chicken
into trying new things, love great food, health conscious, a healthy cook, loving this product

NOV

There are some brands that have reputations for producing quality foods. Kashi is one of those companies—and deservedly so. I’ve had several of their products, and each has been quite tasty.

When I saw their Red Curry Chicken during a quick shopping trip yesterday, I decided that I should try it. The “zesty Thai style red curry sauce” sounded rather promising, and the vegetables included in the dish (sweet potato, red peppers, bok choy, bamboo shoots and kale) are all amongst my favorites.

My first bite of chicken, swiped during the necessary mid-cooking stirring break, confirmed that...

Pizza Hut Tuscani Pasta-Creamy Chicken Alfredo

Pizza Hut Tuscani Pasta-Creamy Chicken Alfredo

We ordered Pizza Hut's Tuscani Pasta for dinner last night.  I was a bit disappointed.  The pasta was luke warm.  We chose the Meat Sauce and the Mac'n'Cheese.  Both we ok.  The Meath Sauce dinner was the better of the 2.  I had to heat it up in the microwave.  The kids would not touch either, thank goodness I ordered a medium cheese pizza and then the bread sticks come with the pasta.  We probably won't have it again.

T.G.I. Friday's Restaurants Complete Skillet Meals Cajun-Style Alfredo Chicken & Shrimp

T.G.I. Friday's Restaurants Complete Skillet Meals Cajun-Style Alfredo Chicken & Shrimp

T.G.I Friday's Complete Skillet Meals are way overpriced. I paid around $6.00 for this Cajun-Style Alfredo Chicken & Shrimp that comes in a 24oz = 1lb bag. It comes precooked you just have to heat it up and it takes about 10 minutes. The taste is actually really good but theres hardly any meat in it! It had 4 pieces of shrimp about an inch long and about less than a handful of chicken around 12 small pieces. The weight of the bag comes from the pasta/vegetable pouch of red bell peppers, green onions and spiral ciufetti pasta which is great! They include a tiny seasoning packet that you can use...

French's brown mustard

French's brown mustard

NOV

2009

My son just discovered French's spicy brown mustard which made me laugh, since I've always had some on hand. I'll eat the regular hot dog mustard, but I like the little extra zip with the spicy brown. The kid didn't touch it, since it said "spicy." He's not big on hot foods.

I grilled brats, and we were out of yellow mustard. So, the kid decided to try French's spicy brown, and it was love at first bite.

Don't let the name fool you. French's spicy brown is just a nice balanced mustard with a bit of extra flavor but not enough to put anyone off. If it had much kick, the kid would not have eaten...

Ortega Taco Kit

Ortega Taco Kit
big time foodie, like trying new things, love to cook, a mom

NOV

2009

I usually cook everything from scratch when I make dinner, but I saw the Ortega Taco Kit at the commissary for under $2.00, so I had to take a chance and try something new.  Since all I needed to buy was ground beef and taco toppings, I thought it would be worth buying even if it sucked.

The Ortega Taco Kit makes 12 tacos and includes the following:

  • Ortega taco seasoning packet
  • Packet of Ortega Taco Sauce
  • 12 crunchy taco shells

I liked how easy this kit made it to prepare crunchy tacos.  Simply brown ground beef with the taco seasoning packet and bake taco shells to get them crispy.  Then...

OK, I have tried and tried and cannot make a decent tasting biscuit to save my life~

Tried all the canned biscuits ~ yuck! Tried frozen ones, they were awful too until I found Pillsbury Grands frozen biscuits~ all of the varieties are great!

They cook in the oven in about 20 minutes and are light and fluffy, about 2 1/2" high and pull apart easily to put some butter or whatever you like in the middle. They are actually beautiful to look at~ And they just melt in your mouth~ Never dry or gummy like some biscuits can be~ And the price is incredibly affordable~

They come in 12 pack bags and 20 pack...

We love these pretzels! They are very inexpensive, and a great value. Slightly wheaty, slightly sweet, and slightly salty, they satisfy the need for a savory/sweet snack. They go well with a sandwich, dipped into peanut butter or hummus, or are fine just plain!

Cool Whip Light is delicious and tastes just like Cool Whip without the extra calories.

I use it to top off jello or pudding, in pie recipes, etc. It is so good and very well priced.

Due to my son's peanut allergy, we use Trader Joe's sunflower seed butter in place of peanut butter. We love this version! It is literally half the price of other brands of sunflower seed butter, but is an excellent quality. It has no refined sugars or hydrogenated oils, and is loaded with protein and nutrition. It is slightly sweet, nutty, and spreads easily. High recommended!
