Folgers Gourmet Supreme Coffee —

I love coffee.  I mean I really love coffee!  I have started my day out with it since I was a little boy.  Yeah, my dad may have put more milk in it than coffee, but nothing felt as good as starting the day with a cup of coffee alongside my dad.

I like my coffee deep rich and bold.  and, that's just what I get when I'm drinking Folgers Gourmet Supreme.  Okay, so the Folger name is not going to impress the coffee snob, but who cares about him anyway.  This is for coffee lovers who disdain watery thin brews and hate throwing money away at Starbucks.

Speaking of watery thin brews, I grew up on Maxwell House.  On a lucky day there might have been some Chock Full o Nuts. Growing up in the Northeast Folgers was virtually unknown to us.  But in time I found Folgers (probably when I was in the Army).  Their regular brew struck me as insipid as Maxwell House.

Now don't get me wrong.  I might hate to waste money but I can get behind a nice Jamaican Blue Mountain (JBM) Coffee and even smile as I fork over $24.00 a pound.  But not as my everyday brew.  If you're drinking JBM every morning, where are you going when you want something special?

Folgers Gourmet Supreme is a fine 100% Arabica coffee that I find ideal at any time of the day.  It has depth and bold taste, but isn't bitter.  It has a very deep aroma that I find pleasing first thing in the morning or after dinner.

A very nice feature of this coffee is its price.  A 12 oz foil "brick" currently cost about $3.49 in the local Publix supermarket, with a 33.5 oz can about $9.00.  Often, Publix will offer the large can as a loss leader for $4.99, and when they do I stock up.

If you're a coffee lover looking for a fine everyday brew and your ego is secure enough to be seen with a can that says Folgers, this coffee is worth your attention.  Try it!

I totally agree. I recently purchased this one and as a lover of dark, dark roasts, it was pleasing to find that this really was dark, but not over the top. This is definitely my favorite grocery-store coffee purchase, although I have yet to try too many of the other varieties (just other types of Folgers' products), and doubt I will any time soon since I bought the giant size version.

Thanks for the review!

I actually need a mild blend or my tummy will rebel! My morning just doesn't start out right unless I have my Folgers so I'm definitely not a coffee snob. Folgers Breakfast Blend is mild and hits the spot. Maxwell House always gave me stomach cramps. Ugh!

Jessica, I've heard that whispered.

Chris,
Try it. Really has some depth to it. A nice brew to start the morning.

I may have to actually try this Folgers you reccomend on the off-chance its cheapers and almost as good as mixing some Costco bought coffees together. I'm a huge coffee snob and lover and need a big strong bold coffee.. but hey if this stuff is decent and that cheap on sale... I'm all for it...

Ha! I'm too snobby for this coffee!
