I received a sample of these toddler vitamins from my child's pediatrician. I was really excited for my daughter to try them becasue I absolutely loved chewable Flintstone Vitamins when I was a kid! They tasted so great! My three year old daughter is incredibly picky and really does not like to try new new things. I was worried that she wouldn't even give them a chance or spit it out before really seeing how good they are. Luckily, she gobbled the Flintstone vitamin right up! After chewing and swallowing without a fight, she declared "Yum! That was so good! Thank you for giving it to me!" Now if that's not a ringing endorsement, I don't know what is! After our success with the sample packet I went looking for the My First Flintstones Chewable Vitamins in my local Target. I didn't see them in the shelves. I've kept up the search, and I finally came across them and bought a bottle.

My son is 4 years old now and I purchased these vitamins last year as this vitamin was recommended by our family doctor. I was not sure if my son would like to eat these tablets as he does not like any vitamins due to the taste and is very stubborn in this regard. However, since these tablets have a good taste, he was happy to chew them and he used to ask for these tablets every day. This is because they are chewable and he just loves eating one tablet daily. The tablets have the taste that a 2-3 year old would like as I also tasted one tablet and could not resist the taste but my son likes it. I was quite happy as my son became more active at the age of three and these were one of his favorite tablets. The Flinstones Chewable Vitamins are very reasonable and less than about 10 cents per tablet which is very affordable. However, now I have stopped buying these tablets and have replaced them after my son become four years.

In my family we try to maintain a healthy eating style by choosing a majority of real foods over processed. We are very lucky to have kids that will actually eat their veggies, including brussels sprouts, but I still worry that they are not getting all the vitamins they need to grow and be strong and smart. I have tried most brands of children vitamins. Most of them I have ended up tossing out because they refuse to eat them. Flintstones have been kid approved in my home and therefore are the overall winner in our home.

I chose these vitamins for my son because the regular chewable vitamins say children under 4 should take half a vitamin a day. I can't imagine it's very easy to break a Flintstone vitamin in half! The dosage instructions for the My First Flintstones Childrens Multivitamin Supplement Chewable Tablets are for 1 chewable a day for children under 4. My 2 year old has been taking these vitamins daily since he was about 1.5, and takes his vitamin every morning without any complaints. He looks forward to telling us each morning what color we gave him. The vitamins seem easy to chew, and he didn't have any problems with them, even when he was younger. I just wish they were a little cheaper (or came in a store brand).****

My friend gave me a bottle of these My First Flintstone Vitamins for my 2 1/2 year old son. She gave them to me because her 3 year old wouldn't eat them, and she had to buy him a different type. I'm budget conscious, and was happy to take them off her hands! I grew up using Flintstone Vitamins, and I trust the brand, so I was more than happy to try them. For two days, my toddler happily chewed up his vitamin and I was thrilled. I guess I should have held off on my excitement, though, because on the third day, he said "this is yucky, Mommy," That was that, and he hasn't eaten any since then, despite my best efforts! I wonder if he would eat them even if they didn't taste good, if he recognized the characters more? I'm certain that most little kids don't know who the Flintsones are. I will still try the gummie version of these vitamins at some point. Maybe he'll like the taste of those better.

I love these vitamins!  These are specificlly designed for younger kids.  As you may know, the regular Flintstones vitamins can be taken by children & adults.  Children that are 2 or under have to take a half of the regular kind which was kind of a pain for me.  I have a 4 year old & an almost 2 year old so I would buyt the regular ones and then have to split one in half for my younger child to take.  I was always looking for a good multivitamin for my daughter to take where I did not have to split it and with these My First Flintstones vitamins I do not have to do this.  These vitamins are smaller and easier to take.  They can also be crushed up if your child id unable to chew them.  My 18 month old daughter has no problem taking these and thinks of them as candy.  They are a wonderful complete multiviamin that I feel good about giving to my children.  Although they are more expensive then the regulars,  (you get less per pack)  and they unfortunitly are not sold at Costco's where I usually buy vitamins, they are worth it to me a real time saver!

The Flinstones vitamins are the only vitamins I have ever given my daughter (other than Tri-Vi-Sol as an infant).  I chose the smaller vitamins since she was only about 1.5 years old when she first started taking them.  She doesn't have any trouble chewing them.  She must enjoy the flavor because she reminds me every morning that she needs her vitamin!  Now that she is a little bit older (2.5 years old), she enjoy being able to pick from the different flavors and characters. I also do like that these vitamins are affordable - they go on sale frequently and I often have coupons for them as well. I have considered switching to a vitamin that does not have added coloring and/or other non-natural ingredients.  The only other downside I can think of is that I had to switch to giving these to my daughter in the morning instead of at night.  I used to give them to her right before she brushed her teeth but found that she was brushing away some of the vitamins!
