I first heard about Flight of The Conchords from a friend of mine who sent me to a site with a sample song from the new series on HBO. I found it hilarious and needed to watch it. Thankfully HBO-On-Demand was there to help me out.

After watching the first two episodes, I'm hooked. The basic plot is a band from New Zealand comes to America to become famous. In between their attempts at stardom are some hilarious scenes and great music. And when I say attempts, it's not some hokey over the top type of attempts. Its a very relaxed show, they don't try to be funny, they just are. I'm not exactly sure...

I saw a preview for Flight of the Conchords a few weeks before the show launched and my girlfriend and I both got a kick out of the unusual but witty humor.  We decided to give the first show a try and while at first it came across as a bit strange the end of the show had as dying of laughter.  The show follows Brit and Jermaine, friends from New Zealand who move to New York hoping to make it big with their hip folk band.  The band is similar to Tenacious D in the fact that they right ridiculous songs ("I'm not cyring it's just raining on my face") only the humor is more along the lines of... review »

Tired of formula tv?
Turn on HBO and catch Flight of the Conchords.  HBO is worth the extra bucks, and this show is hilarious, unexpected, quirky, witty, AND has great music!   What more could you ask for?   It is real entertainment, and ya gotta love the New Zealand accent.   It's about an aspiring band f two-person band from New Zealand and their not-too-bright manager.  Not much happens in each episode, but there are no dumb sitcom predictabilities either.  Thanks, HBO, for another winner!

Give it a whirl, then come back and Comment on your thoughts.  Can't wait to see what...

Look. If you haven't seen this show, you'd better. Because it's hilarious. I love how the guys create silly content from every-day living. Imagine walking down the street, meeting up with a total stranger, and then suddenly having a guitar in your hand. You burst into a song about the stranger while they are right next to you. And the person is actually dancing to your song. A willing participant to your silliness! Guess the show wouldn't be as awesome if it didn't stray from reality, but wouldn't it be fun if you could get away with something like that - even once?

I love this show because it is unlike anything on tv currently. it's hip and fresh and I speculate will have a good run. I also love that Flight of the Conchords is on directly after Entourage - makes my life a little less complicated. There's also a new movie out that has the same actor, Jermaine something or other, in it - similar tone and style - it's called "Eagle vs. Shark."

An ex-New Zealander

I love these guys, and their show is great. There is nothing else on tv that looks or sounds like Flight of the Conchords, which makes it a real joy to watch. Having lived in New Zealand for several years, I know there are some inside jokes that mean nothing to the average American, so it's a testament to these two guys' original style of humor that they've garnered so much positive attention in the USA.

Hint: if you love the show, check out the free podcasts on Itunes: mel's podcasts are especially hilarious.

Another perfect comedy - HBO does it again! All of the characters are so awkward and the song segues are seamless. The writing and improv are impeccable, as is the tacky wardrobe selection. Flight of the Conchords is worth the cost of HBO - if you haven't been watching it you're missing out!

I am totally hooked on this show - there is nothing else like it on TV today.  You never know what these two guys are going to say next, and when they are going to break out into an off the wall song and dance, complete with wacky costumes. I love it.

This is an adorably oddball little show about two New Zealand musicians living in New York and trying to make it as electro-folk musicians. Jerome and Brett are slightly strange bandmates of the band Flight of the Conchords who live together in a tiny NYC apartment (much more like what real people could afford in the BIg Apple than most TV shows!). Their manager is another New Zealander who works as a Travel Agent and hosts band meetings in his office over lunch break. Other characters include the girls Jerome and Brett occassionally date and the Flight of the Conchords Fan Club - which consists... review »

My husband and I are completely addicted to this show. We have tried to get others on the bandwagon because this is just such a quality show that others have to watch or else they're missing out. The characters are so surreal, but they have enough of a toehold in reality that you believe in their world wholeheartedly. There hasn't been one misstep. Most of the music was created before when they were just a comedy band in New Zealand, and so, the episodes have been created around that. The results are just perfect, and I'm really wondering about next season when they have to write music to the episodes. ... review »

The Flight of the Conchords is a very different type of program.  I usually do not like "musicals", that is, a show where singing is part of the story.  However, this program uses their crazy songs to entertain and get their viewpoints across in a very comedic way.  The New Zealand accent that both performers use, is quite catchy and different than an Australian accent, I was surprised to discover.  Some of the deadpan humor is hilarious.  The situations they get themselves into (the best so far is "Mugged") are unbelievable.  I am so happy I "discovered" this show quite by accident.  HBO... review »

This is going to be a short review because very few things need to be said about Flight of The Conchords.

They are GENIUS - A  couple of lovable guys who are extremely funny.

They are BRILLIANT - Comedy about every day life with the unique use of orginal songs.

I loved it soo much I'm having a hard time coming up with anything to say except CHECK IT OUT. free clips and vids on youtube.

You'll find yourself singing their songs at work and it makes the day a little better.  My life is all the richer for having watched the "Frodo don't wear that ring" and "It's Business Time" Videos.

Just a couple...

Flight of the Conchords is a quirky show on HBO with a unique plot about two guys from New Zealand who have a band called Flight of the Conchords and are trying to catch their big break in NYC with the help of their manager, Murray (also from New Zealand).  Each episode includes a couple of songs performed by the band that figure into the plot.  One of the most most memorable songs is called "It's Business Time."  I recently heard this song on the radio as I was vacationing in Dubin, Ireland.  Obviously the show and its songs are an international hit, as well.  The show is cleverly written,... review »

Flight of the Conchords is a funny way to pass the time! Their skits are amusing but the true talent lies in their musical abilities.  In all honesty, they aren't bad singers! The two of them have combined the dry sense of humor with a musical background and they make a great mix for story telling.  I down load their songs on my computer and laugh so hard with the word choices and awkward scenarios.

I hope that HBO keeps their show on and that more people appreciate their unique sense of humor.  I recommend "Jenny", and "If your into it", those are my two personal favorites!

ENJOY!!

Flight of the Conchords with alter the course of your life. Just watching it makes me happy. Every character is hilarious, the plots are funny, and the songs are so clever and hysterical. Although you need HBO to watch it, it is definitely worth it to spend a little extra cash. Or you can just buy the first season on DVD. Everything the characters in FOTC do is so funny. It will make you want to go around telling everyone you know to start watching it. You also might find yourself reciting quotes from the show all over town. So please go and watch this show. You will be doing yourself... review »
