Have you ever had one of those days where you had a many years worth of photos on your hard drive thinking they would be safe forever and then your hard drive goes Kaput and all your photos are gone forever?
Yeah, been there done that and boy was I crushed. After that wonderful moment happened to me and I loaded a new hard drive I opted to keep my photos not only on my hard drive, but also on different web sites to keep them safe if this should happen again.
I keep many pictures on Flickr.com and I have really enjoyed it. You can have your pictures Public or Private...the choice is yours, but I go for public and with this I have met people from all over the world seeing their beautiful pictures and they have fun seeing mine as well. I have even found many of my family members on here. Boy have their kids grown WOW!
What Flickr offers: Free account (lots of room for oodles of photos) or a Pro account available ($24.95 for a year). A safe place to keep your photos and videos. Meet and see great photos from people all over the world. People can leave a comment on your photos. Flickr email (free). Be invited to invite only Flickr groups. Find a Flickr group for yourself or start your own. Photo contests. Play with your photos with Flickrs photo tools. They also have other parties that will develop your film.
Flickr has saved me a lot of time and trouble so if I lose my hard drive again...I know my photos will be safe and sound!
I am on Flickr with "baabs11" nic name...want to find me? Put Scrappy in your search and when you come to a good looking cat that is dressed that would be me or check out my area at Hope to see you there :)
