A good body briefer but definitely not firm control for me.

Pros

shapes gently, no tugging, stays up, good support, strapless or convertible straps, comfortable, foam lined cups, low back design

Cons
isn't firm control, would prefer higher legs, still gives panty lines, may not support large busts

Quick View: I bought an amazing dress then quickly realized that I had nothing to wear under it. It was very figure forming and I needed a strapless bra or shaper to wear with it. I bought the Flexees Firm Control Convertible Body Briefer to try under it. It worked but, if you need true firm control, this one may disappoint.

My Take on Flexees Firm Control Convertible Body Briefer

This briefer comes in black and nude. I actually bought the nude but there weren't any pics to post online and you SO don't want to see me in mine. I am not overweight but we all have little areas of concern. The dress I bought was super hot but also required me to be lump free. Add to that the fact that I couldn't wear anything with straps under it and I had a search on my hands. I found the Flexees Firm Control Convertible Body Briefer on sale at Maidenform.com and snagged one in my bra size which is how these are sold.

The bra cups are lightly foam lined and underwire. They don't add a lot to the size of the bust but they do support what you have. At least they support what I have. I am a smallish C cup. If you are larger, I don't know if this briefer will give you the support you need.

Matching straps come with this briefer and they can be worn traditionally, criss cross, or even halter style. You can buy clear straps if you prefer. The fabric content of this briefer is 78% polyester and 22% Lycra which should, by all accounts, be a very firm garment.

When I received my briefer, I quickly tried it on. It fit fine but I didn't feel like it was firmly controlling my torso. Granted, I am not overweight but I do have a belly and I do have "stuff" that I want smoothed out on my torso. The briefer did smooth out my torso and gave me a sleek silhouette. It fit my bust fine and stayed up with a sticky lining that didn't pinch or bother me. The underwiring is covered and comfortable.

I prefer higher legs or even a thong back which this briefer didn't have. The legs are high enough on the thighs, I guess, but panty lines will still be an issue if you wear tight clothing. I liked that there wasn't a ton of boning which shows through tight or sheer clothes and is uncomfortable. The control comes mostly from the Lycra. I have worn bathing suits with 20% Lycra and they were definitely tighter and held me in better. I may have bought a size too large. I probably should have gone down to a 34C for more control.

Still, this briefer looked great under my dress and didn't suffocate me. I wore it for hours with no discomfort. I have since worn it with the straps and they boost my bust a bit which is always a nice thing at age 45.

In all, I do like the Flexees Firm Control Convertible Body Briefer and have plenty of uses for it. I just don't feel that it gave me firm control. Whether that is because I bought a size larger than I needed or the briefer just isn't as controlling as it says it is, I don't know.

I suggest those who want true firm control try on this briefer before buying it. You may want to play around with sizes to get the right control and fit for you. I actually think I'm better off with less control because i don't have to sacrifice comfort but still, if it says firm control, that is what I expect.

If you want a REALLY controlling briefer, try the Flexees Wear Your Own Bra (W.Y.O.B.) Torsette Body Briefer. I have two and they are wicked controlling. I die. But I look skinny and that's what counts. :)

My Viewpoint

The Flexees Firm Control Convertible Body Briefer gave me a sleek, bump free silhouette and controlled my tummy but, as I said, certainly didn't feel like it was firm control. I think I may have bought a size too big. The bust fit so I should have probably gone to a 34C for more control. I know 22% Lycra can generally do a great job of slimming and controlling lump, bumps, and other flaws. Miracle Suit Bathing Suits have 20% and those suits are tight and take 10 pounds off instantly. I won't fault Flexees for my lack of firm control. I will fault my sizing choice. 4 stars. This would be better though if it were a thong style to avoid panty lines but then thongs are a whole other pain in the...ya know. ;)

You don't need it! You look great. This one is not too controlling but enough to smooth out little bumps and lumps. The Bring Your Own Bra one is super controlling. You'll look like you have a 19 inch waist and feel like you're going to explode and die while wearing it. Haha.

yeah I definitely need one that is strapless for all of my summer-time dresses. I hate the lag squeeze...it isnt flattering for anyone!

The ones with control legs just squeeze, it seems. They have slips as well as body suits like this. The one where you wear your own bra is really firm control but this one is nice because it is strapless and has convertible straps with it.

nice review! I've been looking for a good one of these that dont have the control legs that go down to the knee. I have one that pinches my legs...and it doesnt do much to slim. I'll have to order one of these (and I'll try a size down).
