A few weeks ago I did a review of Bausch & Lomb Sight-Saver PreMoistened Wipes for cleaning eyeglasses.  I recommended them in good faith and in fact gave them a rave review but apparently this vote of confidence was the kiss of death for Bausch & Lomb Sight-Savers which have since unaccountably disappeared from the stores.  As I began to run out of my supply, I rooted desperately through what had been successful hunting grounds in the past, with no luck.  Even Drugstore.com (my erstwhile best supply source) had dropped them totally, not even deigning to add the item to the "Item no longer available" category.  There did not appear to be a promising source of other brands either and things began to look dark, literally speaking.  For a while there, the Sharper Image Electronic Eyeglass Cleaner (the one that takes up too much space in the bathroom) began to loom large in my future.

SAVED BY THE BELL:

For those of you who also wear eyeglasses and may be feeling betrayed and abandoned by Bausch & Lomb, I have good news.  Here is something better ... Flents Wipe 'n Clear Pre-Moistened Lens Wipes.  This manufacturer has produced "quality products since 1927" and it shows.  These pre-moistened wipes are wonderful -- larger and more saturated than the Sight-Savers but also drying much faster.  I am not exaggerating when I say that they have done such a wonderful job cleaning my eyeglasses that it almost felt like a new prescription.  I can see clearly now and with my enhanced vision have been able to read information on the box which indicates that Wipe 'n Clear wipes "are perfect at home, work, in the car, at play and can be used for cleaning all types of eyewear, computer screens, CDs/DVDs and MP3/video game player screens."  They really do work well and cost only $10.49 for a box of 100.

I don't know about you but for a value like that, I'm taking no chances and really stocking up this time!

And I think these would be really good for the other things, like cleaning CD's and DVD's and things. (Not that I'm all THAT ambitious HAHA!) How are you doing? Didn't it seem chilly outside tonight?

I think I did some number crunching and found that they run about 10 cents a wipe. (No relation to "Ten Cents a Dance!!" Haha!

Hi, Lady! I got them from the good old Drugstore.com although I would think they should be at other places too. They are really great.

These are good to have handy. Where did you find them?

You'd think that eyeglass cleaners are all the same, but I agree with you--they're not. A good one makes all the difference. :)

Great alternative -- are they less expensive than many of the others I am always looking for something to carry around in my purse too...???
