No matter how healthy a child might be things always come up, like a cough, runny nose, or constipation. The first six or seven months of my youngest son's life he seemed to always dealing with constipation. His pediatrician suggest I give him suppositories. Pedia-Lax provides quick and gentle relief for children 2-5. The bottle says it should produce a bowel movement in 1/4 to 1 hour and it does work fast. *Do not use this on children younger unless your doctor tells you to.* Here are the ingredients: active- hyperosmotic laxative inactive- edetate disodium, purified water, sodium hydroxide and stearic acid To store it recommends that you keep it away from excessive heat. I've always kept mine in the refrigerator. You should check on your bottle for the recommended dosage and use. The Fleet suppositories work great, it does just what it claims to do. Fleets Has been a trusted brand for relief of constipation for years and now they have product made just for children ages 2-11 years old. My daughter has to take medication everyday and sometimes the consipation side effect start to happen.  With her being so young I have had a hard time finding something gentle and easy on her with out causeing stomich cramping, bloating and the uncomfortable pressure. I recently found that Fleet has a product for small children and I gave it a try because of the Fleets reputation.  The Pedis-Lax are flavored chewable tablets, even comes in Watermelon.  The Laxitives are made from Magnesium Hydroxide which is commonlu known as Saline. Doesage is 3-6 tablets in a 24 hour period and will cause a Bowel Movement with in 1/2 hour to 6 hours.  Pedia-Lax is so gentle there are no cramping, bloating gas or that horrible preasure. The first time I gave it to my daughter she had no side effects no pain and no discomfort except for the discomfort she has from constipation before I gave her the medication.  She was able to just simple and at ease go to the bathroom and it has never caused diarriha afterwards. I feel very good about giving this product to my child and the feeling that knowing if I give this medication to her it will not cause more discomfort and pain and make the whole thing even worst.
