Once upon a time, there was a tiny hamburger joint in Arlington, VA, called "Five Guys." It was run by a dad and his four sons, and their somewhat downscale burger joint quickly made a name for itself as having the best burgers and fries around. We were in the D.C. area and out with friends who lived there.  My husband and I like to eat local whenever possible to find fun, new places... especially holes in the wall.  While Five Guys doesn't qualify as a hole in the wall, it did fill a hole in my heart for a great burger. — The burgers are amazing, the fries to die for.  Which is appropriate because if you ate here enough, you would.  However, this is a great place to treat yourself if you are in the area! — As far as not having ambiance.... it doesn't in the classy sense of the word.  This place… read full review »

The best fries in the area! Any location is fantastic! Always fast service and great food. I like to grab something from them when we go to see a movie. If you are not hungry you still have to have their fries :-) Five Guy's has been voted "Best Burgers" for the past five years in Washingtonian Magazine, were rated number one "Bang for the Buck" in Zagat Survey and The Washington Post calls them "the Willy Wonkas of burgercraft."
