Fit & Fresh Smart Portion Chill Containers Review

I was not familiar with Fit & Fresh products until I noticed a bright orange clearance sticker (my favorite kind of sticker!) slapped on the side of a box of the Fit & Fresh Smart Portion Chill Containers at my local grocery store.  I'm not sure why the box was on clearance but I'm still gloating over my big find that day because I love this product!

The Product:  The Fit & Fresh Smart Portion Chill Containers is a 10 piece set of four 2 Cup plastic containers, four lids, and two removable ice packs.  Each 2 Cup container has measurements listed on the front, which start at 1/2 Cup (4 oz.) and goes up in 1/2 cup increments to the maximum 2 Cup (16 oz.) measurement.  The two removable ice packs fit inside any of the four lids.   

Material:  All of the products are BPA (bisphenol A) free, made of food grade plastics, and the liquid contents of the ice packs are non-toxic.  The containers and lids are easy to clean and are top rack dishwasher safe.  The ice packs cannot be microwaved or put in the dishwasher and must be hand-washed. 

Uses:  Where do I start?  I've used these for many picnics, outings, school lunches and more.  I'm trying to lose weight and portion control plays a big part of that, which is why I love the Fit & Fresh Smart Portion Chill Containers.  I can easily measure out my fruit, vegetables, pretzels, and other healthy snacks and know that I'm not going to consume more than my alloted serving size.  I also pack items for my son's school lunch and know that the ice packs will keep his food safe so that I don't have to worry about it spoiling. 

Necessity:  Okay, so is this a must-have product?  My cupboards are overflowing with several assorted plastic containers in every size and shape. Needless to say, I was not seeking out more plastic containers to add to my collection.  However, the true value of the Fit & Fresh Smart Portion Chill Containers is the convenience of having the measurements listed right on the containers, and the novelty of having ice packs that snap right to the lids.  So for me, yes, this is a necessity.

Price and Where to Buy:  The original cost of my 10 piece set was $10.49 but I purchased it for $5.29.  I haven't seen this in any other stores, however the website has a list of stores where these products are sold and this set can also be purchased online for $9.99 (plus shipping and any applicable taxes).  If you browse the company's website (fit-fresh.com) you'll also find lots of other cool products, recipes, and meal ideas.   

The Fit & Fresh Smart Portion Chill Containers are the most-used containers in my household and I only wish that I had purchased more.  I give this product a very big two thumbs up!
