I belonged to Fit Zone on Gull Road in Kalamazoo, Michigan. I joined three months ago because it was half way between work and home. I could ride my bike or walk. I work 7 day a week and my free time is precious to me as I have so little of it. I specifically asked if this club was going to 1) Close soon as I had heard some rumors and 2) if I moved would I be able to transfer my membership. I was met with a resounding "NO" to both questions.
Well, it closed and my membership was transferred to another Fit Zone club. One is across town and the other is in another town. Neither are convenient for me. I now have to drive my car to the one across town. Since I used a bike to go to and from work, home and gym, the cost of driving there has increased the cost of the gym dramatically.
I wrote a letter to the company explaining my issue and requested that my contract be cancelled. The response I received was a little more than "Too Bad." I am stuck with a two year contract that I can hardly use because of the drive and time involved. They close at 7 pm. I get off work between 5 and 6. It is a half hour home then, a 15 - 20 minute drive to the gym after I get home to get the car to go to the gym. Gee, I get a whole MAYBE half hour work out in before they close. What do they care? They get their money.
I really feel they should have allowed me to cancel their membership as I intend to inform every person of this.
In addition, my "personal trainer" was a college freshman who told me she had never worked out prior to getting a job there.
I hate this place and recommend it to no one.
