Fiskars Bypass Pruner Review Summary

Bushes, shrubs, and other things need to be trimmed and Fiskars Bypass Pruner is a good tool for the task. Reviewers consider Fiskars Bypass Pruner a handy tool for cutting smaller lawn items like flowers and reviewers like the ease of use, wide availability, and reliability of this pruner. When asked to comment, reviewers say things such as “Love These Pruners- Easy on Your Hands” and “Fiskars Bypass Pruners are an Excellent Choice”. There are a few who do not like Fiskars Bypass Pruner as much as the others, and the reasons cited include the ineffective blade lock, the inability of this pruner to cut thicker bushes and other lawn vegetation, and the fact that you need a strong grip to make the pruner work effectively. Still, when all pros and cons are considered, Fiskars Bypass Pruner ranks as a good Garden and Outdoor tool that will help keep your lawn looking its best.

The Fiskars bypass pruner works well for many small homeowners chores cutting branches and giving a good, non- slipping grip. It is fairly inexpensive, also. The 7936 model has a Tough Nyglass composite construction that is surprisingly  lightweight. It is sold at Home Depot and Target.

I have purchased a few pairs of inexpensive pruners in the past, to loan out at work. Fiskars has a good reputation, so I tried these out once. Boy was I disappointed.

They didn't hold up under even moderate use (although my idea of moderate may be a bit tougher than most when it comes to pruners.) ...

You really cant beat Fiskars bypass pruners if you are are looking for a yard tool that is light, sharp, multi-purposed and a great value. They can handle the tough jobs with ease and the easy jobs with a professional finish. They are light to carry and the handle helps you grip tighter for a better cut. Although with the sharp and strong blade very little effort is needed on your part. With yearly sharpening and maintanance you will have a reliable and utilitarian friend for your yardwork for a long time. Use to shape plants which need delicate and precise pruning such as rose bushes and potted... review »

I got a pair of Fiskar bypass pruners late last year because the hedges in the front of my house needed cut back in the front because they were too far over onto the sidewalk and the city likes us to have them trimmed back.

Mine were long handled pruners that I used to cut back the lower branches with.  They worked extremely well and were helpful in controlling how much of the hedge was to be cut.

I wiped the blade off after each use to dry it and stored them in the basement.  I looked at them quickly this Spring and found them to be in really good condition with no rust on them.

I am an avid gardener with a degree in horticulture. I use my Fiskars for everything from pruning roses to de-heading flowers to pruning small shrubs and trees.I have owned many pairs of Fiskars bypass pruners over the years. The reason I have owned many is not because they don't last, it's because I tend to leave them all over the yard. I have found pruner's in the yard that had been laying there all winter. Just a little cleaning and oiling gets them back in fine shape. They definitely stand up to my abuse.

I own several pairs of bypass pruners, but find myself usually reaching for my Fiskars. The only Fiskars model I find difficult to use is the one where the handle rotates. It is hard for me to hang on to....not what a gardener wants!! That model slips too easily. When shopping for garden tools, Fiskars is always a choice due to it's durability and proven quality. The test for me is that I can deadhead flowers with only one hand and not need to hold on to the stem when I am clipping....too much work for me!

The Fiskars Bypass Pruner is one of the best investments I have ever made!  It is so easy to use.  It is very reliable, inexpensive and is available almost anywhere.  I do alot of yard work and for the small jobs, the Fiskars Pruner is the best by far.  It makes the work so fast and easy.  I have tried many different types of pruners and so far, the Bypass Pruner has worked the best for me.  I would highly recommend it.

I love these pruners, we have grape vines and small trees all over my yard, and these things get the job done! They will cut through almost everything! My rose bush had been overgrown with weeds, and nothing could get through them, these did, now my rose bush flourishes, we had a bloom in October last year.  We used these pruners to help clear the back path of the overgrown brush left from when my father lived here.

The Fiskars ByPass Pruner is perfect for trimming a rose bush.  Unfortunately it does not hold up on larger branches.  The blades have a tendancy to close even though the branch is not cut, which leaves the shears stuck on the branch.  I still use them for small items, and would not hesitate to buy other Fiskar products.  They are durable when used on item that do not exceed their design capability.

Great product!  I bought several and leave them in strategic places to grab them quickly.

I use them to prune my smaller trees and some branches from the larger ones as well.  The most use I get from this is in cutting flowers.  It is great for thorny blooms, such as roses.  I nip the thorns off and can arrrange them with worry!

I have bought many of the pruners, this one works the best, and has been left outside and still in great shape! The handle is comfortable, and it doesn't takes Hercules to use them,I am older ,and that is important to me.

Fiskars is a brand I trust, have many of their products, I was so happy to find these.

Greatest little tool I have found.  It will cut through small tree branches.  Makes my life easier when trimming shrubs.  Doesn't hurt your hand or leave blisters.   My son owns a lawn care business and I help him periodically.  He uses the Fiskars for tasks all the time.

I have had a pair of Fiskars Bypass Pruners in my gardening Kit for as long as I can remember. The cushy handle makes it much easier to spend more time in the yard and they are a great size for my small hands.

Just don't leave them outside like I did - or you will have to buy another pair.

I feel like these are a gardeners secret.  They are great for cutting all kinds of things.  I used them to prune four fruit tress in my kitchen garden and didn't get a blister.  Comfortable to use and I have carpal tunnel syndrome!  Take care of these pruners, they are worth it!
