After years of dealing with junky dull scissors, you would think that this scrapbooker would have invested in a solid pair of scissors. But it was actually my sister who ended up buying the Fiskars Razor Edged Scissors. For her wedding, we had to cut up 100s of cloth squares to make some candy roses. I cut the majority of them in my spare time. No other scissors would cut through cloth like these ones could! It made the job a million times easier. I was able to put the scissors down and slide them to slice right through the cloth - just like the pros do at Michaels stores! We set up the cloth roll so that we could pull one edge out, cut on the measurement, and repeat.
After her wedding roses were finished, she gave me the scissors for scrapbooking with and I absolutely love them! Everytime I'm cutting out a photo or cutting up an accent piece, I can't believe how quickly and easily these scissors cut! In fact, if I'm not careful it would be easy to cut a photo all the way in half by accident. I have to take it slow with these scissors but it's worth it because the things I cut end up with a perfectly smooth edge.
The Fiskars blade is angled such that it's comfortable to hold the scissors while allowing the blades to laying on a table, which really helps when cutting through something long like cloth or wrapping paper. The thumb hole fits into the contours of your hand while the finger hole fits three fingers easily giving me plenty of room to grip the scissors and keep control.
These are truly Razor Edged Scissors so you have to keep your kids away! They are very very sharp and could easily cut yourself if you are being careless. I am never careless with these scissors and if I have a phone call or another distraction, I put them down first. Proper care should be taken to make sure these scissors aren't just laying around. I kept the original package and put them back whenever I am done with it. This has the added benefit that the scissors are tucked away so no one will use them for other things. The last thing I want is someone ruining my perfect craft scissors!
Need another reason to buy Fiskars Razor Edged Scissors? According to the packaging they are Made in the USA! So buy Fiskars today for all your craft projects and support your country at the same time. Ok so they are $28, but they've lasted me 5 years and they are still super sharp! Enjoy!!
