Fisher and Paykel Eco Smart Washer —

We bought this machine 5 years ago and we really stretched to afford it.  I had heard nothing but good about this machine.  What really sold me was the fact that it uses less water and spins the clothes really dry.  From the get go, we noticed that it was really loud.  And 2 months after the warranty ran out, a plastic part broke, and the water wouldn't spin out.  It cost us over $240 to get that replaced.  The techinician told us that this was the one part that always seemed to go.  We asked about the noise and he couldn't explain it.  We still have this loud machine, and I am ready to move on.  I am now looking into a front loader, and there seems to be more and morr of them that spin out at almost the rate as this one.  Every type of machine has problems, but this one didn't deliver what it promised.  I had even thought I would buy the dryer to go with it but will now save my money and buy a matching washer and dryer.   For those of you who are satisfied, I am happy for you, but this one didn't deliver for the price.
