Fisher-Price T.M.X. Elmo Review Summary

Fisher-Price T.M.X. Elmo is the once coveted toy that was nearly impossible to find. There was so much hype surrounding this mechanical toy that everyone thought they had to have it. Some parents were amazed by the talking, giggling Elmo and claim it is "fun for the whole family," Other parents, however, say that it is not worth the money and it can be scary for younger children. T.M.X. Elmo says phrases, giggles and falls to the ground laughing. The concept is really cute and the toy is entertaining, but the doll seems to have some mechanical issues trying to stand back up and the novelty of it wears off quickly.

My son loves it. It will make it laugh for hours if we let him. He did get a tad bored with it for awhile but he is 2 and everything bores him after awhile!! It doesn't bother my 6 month old and it is fun for the whole family!!! The laugh may get on your nerves after awhile though. Hope you enjoy making... read full review »

Funny, but definitely a little freaky. You have to be a true Elmo lover to want this toy! I'm not certain why there is so much hype.

We recieved this as a gift, and frankly, I wish we hadn't.  Both of my kids are terrified of it, it eats batterys like they are going out of style and it's kinda posessed.  Sometimes I hear it laughing to itself when no one is in the room and sometimes it will just deside to stand up 5 mins after the kids are done playing with it.  I'm glad I didn't spend any money on it.

I have mixed feelings on this little Elmo. Is he funny? Yes. But I think he is funnier than my baby does. My baby is scared of him and he sure isn't cuddly. I understand that he is a computer underneath, but they could have made him a little bit softer.

The batteries seem to die quickly in him and he doesn't always work. I am not sure what is wrong with him. Maybe his wires are loose or something.

For the price - I don't think I would purchase this item again. It doesn't engage my child as much as I had hoped it would. In fact, I think my 7 year old gets a bigger kick our of him than my one year...

When I first got the TMX Elmo for my son I thought I was paying way too much money for such a little toy, But now  I love the thing and so do My two little boys. They love watching him get up and fall on the floor laughing. They start to laugh and it's really cute I just love watching them interact with toys like this.  I hope they keep making elmos and i know from experiance with my two  boys that elmo is always a hit. we also have potty time elmo, ELMO  elmo, (that one is kinda like YMCA, only its ELMO), we have the regular tickle me elmo, and we have the Of course TMX elmo, we also have...

I was so upset when I purchased the Fisher Price Elmo T.M.X it had quite a few mechanical issues such as it could not always get up by itself after doing its silly moves so you werent exactly sure what it was doing. The giggling and such was cute I guess. But you know it comes with hints to find out different tricks and things that it can do, but those were very challenging for all my kids not to mention you have to go on the internet. You would think that it being a childs toy it wouldnt be so complex.  My youngest son however was petrified by it. You know, we have some of the other elmos such...

My daughter begged me for this Tickle-Me-Elmo. At first I thought that she is to old for it and that it was to expensive. Well, the more and more that we played with them in the store, I was really starting to like it myself. By the way, my daughter is five years old and usually plays with Barbie's or Doll-houses.

Well needless to say, I did purchase the Tickle-Me-Elmo. In which she received for Christmas last year. I overcame the price, as she grows up, so do the price of toys that she will like. We were not the only ones who loved this toy, it was passed around that day to grandmas, grandpas,...

My daughter got this for Christmas last year, so I don't know about the price and I certainly didn't stand in line for it, but nonetheless, she loves it.  She's 20 months old and loves to tote Elmo around with her.  So far she hasn't yet figured out how to turn him off and on, so I don't have to listen to it constantly.

I do wish he was a bit softer--more cuddly.  The other thing is that one of his arms is not stuffed and tacked down to his side.  Because she likes to play with him, not just watch him roll on the floor, that can be sort of a pain.  She'd like to be able to play with both arms....

This is a cute toy. My 17 month old son (a huge Elmo fan) seems to enjoy this toy  very much, but only picks it up once every few days and watches it go for about 5 minutes until he's ready to move on. He doesn't know how to actuvate it himself and it is hard and heavy for him to carry around (although he seems to enjoy the challenge). Overall it is cute and he does like it but I think for $40 I think it should do more than 3 variations of short laughing sessions. I also noticed when he goes to stand back up after laughing on the floor he will fall back down but I wasn't sure if maybe my floors... read full review »

TMX Elmo is not as great as it is made out to be.  When Elmo goes down on the floor he has trouble getting back up.  He makes a lot of mechanical gear sounds that my daughter didn't really like.  It kind of scared her a bit, she's two.  The batteries seemed to go dead pretty quick.  My little girl didn't really play with it that much, actually she only played with it right when she got it and then it ended up in the toy box and that is where it has been ever since.  She actually had more fun with the little white box that was under the package lid that gave a review of what Elmo sounds like....

We purchased this new Elmo toy as a gift for our 2 year old, who loves Elmo and has an extensive Elmo collection of toys.... Although a cute toy, the hype may have been a bit too much for this toy. It is quite funny the first few times it is played, then the appeal is lost. The box was rather cute though... with the flap that was velcroed on and if lifted Elmo's voice saying :uh uh uh no peeking!" There were some occassions when Elmo just seemed to freeze up and he needed to have the button pushed again to start him going again... overall I would say this is a cute toy.

We bought TMX Elmo for my daughter when she was 6 months old, and she saw it in action at the store. She is 14 months now and still playing with it. It has three points that you can tickle from. For now, she only figured out how to tickle it on the stomach. None of his fur came off and it is very durable. It lasted through all the dropping on the floor, chewing off of his nose and hitting it hard at the stomach. Only problem is that I have to change the batteries very often and it takes 6 batteries. On the other hand, what toy doesn't eat up batteries like crazy?

We bought this for my son for Christmas the year it came out.  He has autism and Elmo is one of his favorite characters.  He loved it right out of the package and played with it for hours on end.  We have had to buy three due to wear and tear but he plays with them so much I can't really complain.  They would probably be a lot more durable if he wasn't so rough on them.  All in all it is a fun, silly little toy and who doesn't love Elmo??
