Most HelpfulI don't know why this monitor has received such mediocre reviews on this site. I have been using mine for 10 months now and haven't had any problems with it yet.
The Fisher Price Sounds and Lights Monitor comes with two receivers and one base for the baby's room. I put one receiver in my bedroom and...

Most HelpfulAnyone who has infants and young toddlers likely has a baby monitor, both for reasons of safety and for the peace of mind a baby monitor brings. Monitors range widely in terms of price and capabilities and one of the more budget- priced devices available is the Fisher Price Sounds ‘N Lights Monitor...
review »We purchased this monitor for our first child. It had everything I thought I wanted. Two channels to switch between, it lit up so I could turn it down and watch TV without the sound, and it had a night light. The only thing I still like about it is the night light.
Every little thing is picked up on this baby monitor. This should be a good thing for a concerned parent. However, every little thing includes our neighbor's phone calls, radio stations and extra sounds from other rooms. The great thing is that the radio stations come and go, so you can be woke up at 4 am to either Rush...
review »I bought this monitor while pregnant with my third child, because I had always trusted Fisher Price products. The first couple of months all went well, and everything worked outstandingly. They were fairly clear, and worked pretty well.
A couple of negatives: you can hear AM radio stations very low, but clearly! There are only 2 channels, and if your neighbors have one, you hear their conversations, vice-versa. Keep these AWAY from other electronic products (alarm clock, cell phone charging, tv's...) or you will get a tremendous amount of feedback.
About 5 months into use, the receivers antenna...
review »I recieved this Fisher Price sounds and lights monitor for a present for my baby. Using it the first time i thought it was great. it has a night light four channels a handset that you can clip on your pants or belt you can go a great deal away from the base without it losing signal and it doesnt get to much static. i also like how when there is a noise in the room the lights on the monitor move to show how much sound it actually was. this is great just in case you dont have the monitor up to high you can still see if there is activity going on. this monitor doesnt make me worried about leaving...
review »The Lights and Sounds monitor is the only monitor I've purchased and can't complain about it. It's put up with a lot from my son and myself. I've had to replace it once, after I left it in the bathroom for a couple of days and the steam from all of the showers ruined it.
It reaches very far, which helps for when I have to go out at night to clean my car, take out garbage, talk on the phone, etc.
The only con is having to replace the batteries. It comes with a cord so you could plug it into the wall, but I travel around the house with the monitor so I'm always going through batteries. ...
review »When I first sarted using this monitor, I lived in a house. The monitor worked great without any interfearance. It picked up every little sound that my son would make. We have since relocated to an apartment and it still picks up my sons movements pretty good, but it also has some light static interfearance. It is not enough to keep me awake at night, but it is quite noticeable at higher volumes. I even had to use it without the power adapter for the monitor for a couple weeks after the move (we lost the adapter). Batteries lasted for 1 week, using it for 10-11 hours every night!!!
