Originally we purchsed a baby monitor which had absolutley no range on it.  We switched to this brand and model and it has worked great for the 7 months that we have used it so far.  When buying a monitor remeber that more power means a better signal strength.  We have a dual reciever model which is very useful.  Sometimes there is static and one of the recievers seems to be a little more staticy but nothing big.  The batteries last for a long time after being charged.
