Need an affordable alternative to a Britax Car Seat? The Fisher Price Safe Voyage Convertible Car Seat is “uses the base from the Britax seats, with a little less padding.” Although the Safe Voyage does have less padding than the Britax counter parts, many reviewers comment on how comfortable baby is while riding in this convertible car seat. Made for babies up to 33 pounds rear-facing and up to 55 pounds forward facing, the Safe Voyage “installs quickly and easily” is “easy to clean” and has “deep side with energy absorbing EPS foam.” Although it appears that Britax has discontinued manufacturing this particular seat, it may still be available at clearance prices. Additionally, Britax also makes the Fisher Price Safe Voyage Booster seat, which is comparable to the Britax Parkway.

This is a wonderful seat. We have our 1 year old in it and still is rear facing. It is for children 5lbs. to 33 lbs rear facing. Up to 55 lbs forward facing. It has the 5 point harness, and the straps have 4 slots so it really grows with your child. It has deep sides with energy absorbing EPS foam for added side impact protection. The Fisher Price Safe Voyage car seat is great. I was looking for a convertible car seat that was easy to install, easy to use, safe and was a good value. The Safe Voyage is made by Britax, but this seat didn't cost over $200. I purchased two of them (for each car) for $130 each. This seat proves that you don't have to buy the most expensive seat on the market to get a good, safe car seat. The Safe Voyage has a high weight limit for rear facing, which is safer for your child. I purchased this car seat for my daughter almost a year ago. She was about 7 months old at the time. It's a year later, and I still love this car seat. The straps are easy to adjust, and it's easy to install. My daughter is still rear facing, and looks so comfortable. The seat has lots of cushion. This is a great car seat. Most car seats are only good for the first year then you have to buy a new one! This one starts at 0 months and is good for the first 2-3 years! It is soft and easy to clean. A great value for the money. My son was very small when he was born so the extra padding really helped keep him in place.
