I received this swing as a gift, I never would have bought it myself as my first child hated the swing we had. This swing is brightly colored with cheerful animals so it is unisex. There is a mobile of three adorable animals, my daughter loves the bird. the music is great!!! Usually these things have music that is so annoying or really sounds bad. There is a variety of music and even just soothing noise, depending on the babies mood. I first received the Fisher Price Rainforest Open Top Cradle Swing when I was pregnant with my first daughter. I had a baby shower and received this as one of my gifts. It was among my favorites before I even had my baby girl. Soon after her birth, though, I found that it was an absolute necessity. I found it very hard to get my baby to sleep at night in her crib. We had the ocean wonders cradle swing with my first son and spent so much in batteries I was determined to buy this one with my second son. I am happy with it overall. My infant doesn't love the swing the way his brother did but I don't think that has anything to do with the swing itself. Everything has functioned well and the colors and music are very nice. I did like the lights on the ocean wonders swing and wish this had something similiar but I think that having a swing I can plug in is worth the trade-off.

I purchased the fisher price rainforest swing brand new at walmart. After putting it together...it didnt work right away. You can either work the swing with batteries or plug it into the wall. It didnt work either way right away. My daugher does not like the swing because she hurts her legs/knees on the tray when she moves. I cant let her hurt herself on a swing that shouldve been padded. Once I got the swing to work...it worked for a few weeks and then it stopped working again. It keeps doing this on and off. I love the  Fisher Price  Open top Rainforest cradle swing. My daughter loved it also. She didn't get much use out of it though because we got it when she was about to grow out of it.
