The Fisher Price Rainforst Tub is nice for infants

3

We recieved the Fisher Price Rainforest Tub as a baby shower gift and were very excited to have it when we first brought our baby home.  The tub comes with an adjustable hammock and padded head rest.  The tub also comes with a teething/chew toy that attaches to the side of the tub, a red bird that you can use to rinse baby off with and a blue bird that is like a strainer.  We used the tub until our daughter was about three months old.  It fit nicely in our kitchen sink and was perfect as we delivered via C-Section, so no extra bending for me.  It was easy to fill the tub with plenty of water to keep our daughter warm and splash around.  The hammock is adjustable, but as she got bigger the "bump" on the bottom of the tub was uncomfortable to her.  As she started moving and kicking more the tub just was not big enough for her to move and play in.  The tub is very fun and colorful and brought many smiles to our little one, but overall I am not sure if we would have kept it knowing we would only be able to use it for 3 months.

Great tub for infants

We bought this tub because our 4th child was unexpected and we had already gotten rid of all our baby items, so we had to start new!  We chose this tub because of the mesh hammock and pillow and we were tired of trying to hold a slippery little baby in a big baby tub that he just slid around it. The hammock worked great, held him up and helped him feel secure and still allowed me to wash him easily.  Well.. then my baby got BIG.  7 months old and over 20lbs, yeah the hammock doesn't work on that!  The bath tub comes with a little indented seat on one end, but the seat was too shallow for my son to be able to sit in properly and his bottom just kept sliding out of it.  I have lately just been bathing him seated in the larger end of the Rainforest tub, I put his toys on the small hump seat portion and that has been working well.  I don't know how long we'll be using the tub, since my son just keep growing and he already looks almost too big for it even though age-wise he's too young to be in a regular tub. But baby items tend to be things that you have to look at in terms of how much easier did they make things for you, not how long you were able to use them... since baby's grow out of everything much too fast to really get your money's worth.  Overall this bath tub made bathing an infant-6 month old so much easier that to me it was worth it.  My little boy never cried during bath time with this tub, I know every child is different but it makes me wonder if bath time would have been easier with some of my other children as baby's if I had had this tub then!

A tub for the ages!

I am very up in the air about the Fisher Price Rainforest Bath tub. It has alot of nice features, colorful themed toys for baby to play with, the hamock feature for newborns to prevent slipping, soft cushions along the rim as armrests for parents and the ability to change to meet three different stages of growing but it also has a few downfalls, the hamock is hard to attach ( it took two of us to stretch it enough to attach it ) theres not thermometer strip for the water temperature unless you buy one seperatly and the hamock only allows babys back and bottom to be in the water so baby gets cold quickly.  I wish the hamock had a little more give in the bottom half so baby could get a little more submerged because I do like it I think its a good feature I had previously had a tub without one and my baby was always slipping down the incline or slidding off the side even though it had the no slip grip in it its nice to not have to worry about the baby slipping as much.
