Great for at home or for travel

We have loved this swing. It is smaller so it doesn't take up a ton of space and it can fold down to be somewhat compact for storage or traveling. Our baby loves it. She spent many nights and every nap for a time in this swing because it was the only place she would sleep. The swing is a light speed but can be turned to a faster setting depending of what the baby prefers. Our girl was fairly heavy as a baby so when the battery would get low, at the high speeds she would really be rocking at the low speed. My only wish is that this had a plug in the wall option so that we didn't have to rely on batteries all the time. Versatility My only complaint is that it doesn't have an option to plug into the wall. Durability We bought ours from a consignment store so I'm sure it has seen its fair share of use. We have used it heavily for the first few months of our baby's life. Ease of Use Super easy to use, just lay the baby in the seat and turn it on. Safety The seat is nicely curved so the baby doesn't just slide out and there is a waist belt to strap the baby in. We generally didn't use the strap because we felt she was secure enough and was also wrapped in a blanket so a strap between the legs wouldn't work so well. Features For a swing, this does all a swing does like go back and forth. There are fancier ones that go side to side but for a travel one you can't expect everything.

Love this swing

I am rating this swing a ten because it has been a life saver for my baby. Its the only swing I can put my baby in and be able to get a few chores done while keeping her entertained. Versatility This swing is very versatile. Its small and portable. It can easily be put into the trunk of your car or even in the back seat for travel. It is perfect for bringing along to visit family and friends. Durability This swing is very durable. I have not noticed any broken parts while using this swing or after traveling with it. Ease of Use This swing is very easy to use. It has an open top which makes it so much easier to put your baby into. There is nothing overhead preventing them from being placed down. And there is no risk of bumping their head. My daughter also had a tendency to spring upward towards me while lifting her. Not having an overhead bar on this swing was a good thing for us. Safety I always felt my daughter was completely safe while utilizing this swing. It has a safety belt that is adjustable to fit your baby. Features I like the fact that this unit is small and can fit into small spaces. That is the best feature of all on this Fisher Price swing. It can be used indoors or outdoors.

A must have!

The portability of this swing is great! I have taken mine everywhere and it always fits! We love to use this as a portable napper for our daughter when we were out so she wouldn't have to sleep in her car seat all squished. We have used it at the beach, at barbecues, and at her siblings gymnastic classes. It fits in my friends small apartments which is great when someone is baby-sitting and gives them a safe place to put her while they are pre-occupied making a bottle or such. It is really easy to use and is surprisingly durable as well! The print is cute too! It should also go without saying that you should always strap your child in when using this swing, along with any other child product that has safety straps. Features My only complaint is that since it is a portable swing, I wish it would offer some features for the baby or at least some type of shade attachment, since they know this will be used outside and on the go.

I was given this swing my my sister in law when my son was born. She said I would NEED it. I put it in a closet, rolled my eyes a little, and thought it was totally unnecessary. THEN my son arrived. For the first few days, he didn't sleep, he didn't eat, all he did was cry. I was talking to my husband, told him I just wanted to hide in the closet...and there was the swing. I picked up the box, prayed to God it would be easy to put together (it was, only took me 5 minutes) and buckled my shrieking child into the swing and turned it on. The quiet was so sudden it was deafening. He looked around like he had never seen any of us before. The swing was a life saver. Any time he cried and we couldn't figure out why, we stuck him in that swing and he would stop. It doesn't play music, it doesn't plug into the wall so you can put it anywhere in your house, and it's really nice that it folds up almost flat and you can stash it between a couch and a wall in a small space. Thank God my sister in law knew more than me.

Fisher-Price Open Topy Take-Along a great Swing!

So I debated with myself on whether to buy a full sized baby swing or a Take-Along swing or both...I chatted with a mommy friend of mine and she said a take-along was a must have so due to money being tight we decided on just buying a Take-Along swing and I don't regret it one bit! We went with this swing for the neutral colors. The very first day we were home our little one settled into the swing and loved it so much he fell asleep! This swing was a life saver as it allowed me to get ready in the morning with the baby swinging away next me...get dinner ready, no problem! Sit the baby in the swing off to the side in the kitchen! It folded small enough to toss in the carry for visiting friends and family too. The only thing I wish it had come with was some sort of head rest, however a few rolled up burb clothes worked just as well. This is one of my favorite baby items!

I was given this swing as a gift off of my baby registry. At the time, we lived in a small apartment and picked it out because I knew it wouldn't take up a lot of space in our home. I also loved the fact that I could pack it up and go when we were away visiting someone else's home. Overall, I was pleased with this swing, but I wouldn't go so far as to say that I loved it or necessarily would recommend it. There aren't too many options as far as swings go for small spaced homes. So if you are in tight quarters, this is a good option. One of the downsides to this swing is the speed. All speeds basically went the same speed, so it was hard to regulate really how fast it was swinging. Also, the music was enough to drive a person crazy! It was practical and did collapse and travel well. My baby was quite comfortable and did love being in her swing. It provided a great way for me to be able to get things done around the house!

OK travel swing

We got this swing as a "spare" for when our son was born.  We had a big swing, but wanted one that was more portable to take to other's houses and to use in our bedroom.  The swing is just ok for us.  It is very light weight, which makes it very portable.  However, it only seems to go at one speed, despite the options.  The seat itself isn't very supportive, especially for a new baby.  It sort of crunches the baby into the bend of the seat.  My son definitely did not like it as a newborn.  And now, he seems to have already outgrown it at 8 months (and average size).  Definitely not my favorite piece of baby equipment, but in a pinch, has done ok for us.  My son will only tolerate it for very short periods of time...say long enough for me to shower.  It also goes through batteries pretty quickly, especially since we don't seem to use it very often.  It's also pretty boring, compared to other swings.

Our Fisher Price Take Along Swing doesnt swing!

2

We received 2 of these swings because we accidentily registered for it twice so people thought we wanted two. We don't like it AT ALL.  I dont know if we just got a bad one but the swing does NOT swing.  We try to get it "started" with a nudge of the foot, but it wont keep going.  It just stops.  You can hear the motor going but it wont swing.  Its very frustrating.  I will not get another one of these.  As a matter of fact, we NEVER use it now.  We solely use the bouncer that we got - Fisher Price as well.  Maybe when our son is a little bit older and heavier we will try it again. We do like the design, the look of it, the carry-ing ability of it, and the fact that it folds up somewhat compactly.  It is difficult to fold it due to awkwardness in the shape of it.  We took in in our VERY small car with all of our other baby gear on a trip this year and it was able to fit.  The basic function of the swing not working makes it a no go.

Fisher-Price Swing is good for our needs

We purchased this swing because of the price. This swing only goes in one direction - forwards and backwards. I liked the idea of a swing going sideways also, but they were too expensive for us, so we decided on this one, and it has worked great for us. Our newborn had reflux, so she had to sleep propped up. So, this swing became her bed, and she loves it. The pros are that it does not take up too much space (some swings are so big!) and is very easy to assemble and disassemble. We travel with it, and it is fairly bulky to travel with, but much more compact than a lot of swings. We actually have to manually push her in the swing to get her to go to sleep because the highest setting does swing high enough for her. The seat is at a nice angle for her. One thing that would be nice is if the seat could recline back as well. Despite that, I would still get this swing merely because of the size.

Has only one speed level

I got the Fisher Price Open Top Take Along Swing as a baby shower gift. I was quite excited as it looked promising and sturdy The assembly was easy and did not require complex mumbo jumbo or lengthy instructions. The seat cover was nice and colorful. I liked that the product had seat belts, however for a 7 month old those are not sufficient. My baby used it from 3 months onwards and he was quite comfortable in it but as he grew and was able to sit up, the product became quite unsafe. The swing has only one fixed recline position so when baby tries to sit up, the swing moves forward and there is always a danger of him falling out of it. So I guess the usage for me was only for 4 months. The best part about the swing is its tropical music which has put my baby to sleep many times. However the music automatically stops after 5-10 mins and I have to switch it back again. Also the biggest con of this swing is that it has only one speed level. It advertises 5 speed levels but in reality it just runs on a constant one speed. I had to tie socks on the swing pivots to retain it from going super fast. The battery consumption is average if you don't use the music option. Pricing wise it is slightly expensive for the worth.
