We received this swing as a present when my son was born. It has 7 different speed settings, 4 different music choices, and 3 ways to combine the music, lights, and fish that go around the light. Also, it can swing side-to-side or front-to-back, which was a very nice option on the days our son didn't want to look at the TV, or just felt like another view. He was simply entranced by the lights and fish when he was a newborn, and as he grew into it, he started trying to bat at the fishes that were out of his reach.
Another nice feature is the ability to have the seat completely reclined, or sit it up a bit. This wasn't the easiest thing to do, and required the baby to be out of it, but it once again gave him a different perspective. Also, it came with a small tray that had fishes he could bat around while he was swinging. The music was a nice mix of nature sounds and little lullabies, and had a separate volume control.
Once, we did have an incident in the swing. While I won't saying getting it on and off is easy (is anything really?), the cover came off the seat and could be machine washed, and the hard plastic could be cleaned off. The only bad thing was that there are holes in the bottom for the straps, and there was a bit of leakage, but there is no real avoiding that, I suppose.
The base of the swing seemed very sturdy and the feet were placed far apart that even on top speed there was no real threat of it tipping over. The straps were easy to use and adjustable, and there was a good sized piece of plastic that made sure he wouldn't slip out.
My only problem is now he is too big to be calmed by his swing anymore.
