This natural papasan swing does it all, it rocks, cradles and swings in 2 directions to soothe baby. with my son we had an older model which was literally the only thing that would get him to sleep he slept in it more than he slept in his crib. it is battery operated on 6-D batteries which can get expensive, but there are other models in the same family that have ac adapters, the only drawback to those is that they are considerably more expensive. the neutral colors fit in well with the room and arent "in your face". the songs are plesant and not too loud but there is volume control and also speed control. the toys on the little bridge are so-so but then again the most the baby does in this swing is stay awake for a few minutes before she is soothed to sleep anyways. all in all i sometimes wish we would have just shelled out the extra money for the ac adapter swing because keeping d batteries in large quantities for a chance that the batteries might die is rather expensive but i think we got the best deal even paying a premium for batteries. i think we will be able to sell this after shes too big to fi in it also and get at least half of our money back.
