Fisher-Price Little People School Bus —

Kids love any type of toy that makes sounds and can be easily moved from place to place. One toy that combines both of these features into one is the Fisher Price Little People Beeps the Bus, a product that let's kids use their imagination and enjoy the sounds as they play.

Toy Commentary:

Fisher Price Little People Beeps the Bus is one of many popular toys in my household. My two little girls both love this toy and have been known to get into shoving matches over who gets to play with it and the main reasons for their uncontrolled enthusiasm are the lights and sounds. The sounds, in particular, are a big hit with my girls, both of whom love music in any form. My oldest toddler loves to attempt to sing along with the tunes and she enjoys the flashing red lights. My youngest also loves this toy and will start to clap her hands when she hears the sounds.

Besides the tunes and lights, there are other reasons this bus is such a popular toy of choice in my household. First, anything that rolls around from place to place with little effort is certain to be popular. This bus, of course, has wheels and it glides easily across our smooth, wood and tile floors. Second, there is the ease of placing the little people in the bus and taking them out. When I first saw this bus with its open- air top, I didn't think it was realistic looking. But after watching the kids play with it, it's easy to see why Fisher Price chose to make it the way they did. The open design makes it very easy to place the people in the bus and take them out. If the bus had a closed covering, the only way to put the little people in and take them out would be through one of the doors, and this would likely lead to frustration.

This bus makes sounds and from what I have read, the sounds vary a little from one bus to the next. Some Little People Beeps the Bus models play songs like "If You're Happy and You Know It", and "The Wheels on the Bus go Round and Round". My bus doesn't play those well- known kids songs. It makes other sounds and plays other songs but my little girls love it nonetheless.

With the sounds, one thing parents will like is that they are not very loud at all. They are easily audible, yes. But with other sounds going in the house, like the television, dishwasher, etc., you won't even notice when this bus is making any noise. And the batteries last a good long time. After almost one year of use, we have not yet had to replace the batteries. They are still going strong.

Bottom Line Viewpoint:

Overall, Fisher Price Little People Beeps the Bus is a smash hit with my two little girls. We have been tempted to purchase a second one, just to give them both their own bus. It rates as an excellent, fun toy, with sounds and lights to keep the kids entertained and without the design flaws that lead some kids to frustration.
