Fisher-Price, get over yourself!

When the Fisher-Price FP3 player came out, I was delighted. My daughter loves music, but I don't want a 4-year-old playing with my $400 iPod. She has CDs, but I almost went nutso listening to Miss Spider's Sunnypatch Friends music on a road trip. A kid-friendly digital music player sounded perfect.

If your child loves music, this is a must have toy!

Mom of 8, gadget guru mom, mom of boy and girl, mom of music-loving kid, not rich, willing to pay for quality, big on portable fun

I love hearing my daughter sing. Claire adores music. Most of the time, she is able to hear the music I choose for her, because we are home together. But since she is the youngest of my 8 children, that is not always the case. There are times that her older siblings are doing homework, and we need quiet. There are even more frequent times that we are in the car, and everyone wants to hear their own music. With the older siblings all having their own music devices, such as iPods, Claire wanted to hear music, too. Thank goodness for Fisher Price!

Car rides are a lot less noisy!!

buying for 6-10 year olds, not rich, buying for durability, buying for a kindergardener, looking for silly toys, buying educational toys, budget conscious, buying for a preschooler

I LOVE this product & so does my 3 year old!! My 8 and 12 year olds have ipods and my 3 year old was always trying to get ahold of them. So when I saw the Fisher Price FP3 player, I knew exactly what my 3 year old would be getting for Christmas! It is so easy to use. I love that you can put an icon to show up with each song. My son can't read yet but he finds it very easy to find the song he wants by looking at the pictures. I was also very happy that I could put all of his "kid" cds onto the FP3 player. It would be great....if we could use it!

We bought this for our 3 year old son for Christmas this past year. When I bought it I saw that it needed Windows 2000 or XP to use it, which was fine since that was what I had. Unfortunately my computer crashed and now computers only come with Vista. This product DOES NOT work with Vista. I called the tech support number and was told that they are working on a patch to allow compatibility with the FP3 player and Vista, but they don't know how long it will take. So, here I am with an FP3 player that my son can't really use. It has the 5 songs and 2 stories preloaded with it, but he can't listen...

Unnecessarily painful to transfer music

buying for a preschooler, a fan of educational toys, buying for durability

The title says it all. There is no reason to use a proprietary format for a music player. While most have simple transfers the fisher-price kid tough FP3 player makes its customers jump through unnecesary hoops.

I do like the design, layout and sturdiness, but it's worthless without being able to easily tranfer music.
