I never had the spare room for a high chair, didn't matter how small it was, it just wasn't going to work. So I thought I'd give this seat a try because it was afforable, straps right onto a kitchen chair and can also be used without the tray at the table.
My daughter is almost 3 years old and still uses hers as a booster seat at our table. We loved this seat so much, her baby sister now has the exact same one.
The tray can be adjusted in distance from the baby as your baby's belly grows (*hee hee*). The chair is very durable as well. It's easy to travel with if you know you are going someplace where there is nowhere for baby to sit and eat. It is very affordable and practical and there is no cloth seat or liner to remove and machine wash. I just rinse the tray out in the sink or wipe it down with a baby wipe. The entire seat can be easily wiped down as well.
I think it's the best alternative to a high chair, and I would actually recommend it in the place of one, even if you have the space! It also makes for an easier transition when you feel your child is old enough to eat up against the table with the rest of the family. All you have to do is pop the tray off and pull the chair up to the table. Depending on the child's height, you can even raise the seat up to reach the table better.
