As first-time parents we walked through our local Babies R Us looking at all the baby gear trying to find all the essentials in baby equipment, we came to the point of where we needed to find a highchair. This should be one of the easiest tasks on the list right? All you need is something to strap your child in that has a tray that you can sit food on. Well, as we stood there looking over all the different types of highchairs we began to think of certain things we hadn't before.

For instance, we have a small house, which comes, of course, with a small dining room, so we needed something that would not take up much space. We also wanted something where the baby/child could feel like they, too, were part of the family even at dinner time. A chair that would leave open the option to allow baby/child to sit and use our table was a plus.  Next, we wanted the item to be safe and sturdy; so a highchair that would strap to a regular adult chair would be great, especially if it straps on 2 ways. Next thought would be how much use were we going to get out of the chair. Two years seemed to be a good start, but then four years is even better. True, most 4-year-olds that I know are not in highchairs or booster seats anymore, but just to have the option is nice. Then, we wanted a chair that was easy to clean. We had looked at all the chairs that had the cloth covering, but to throw that in the wash every night would be completely inconvienent. What would be more ideal is if there was a chair out there that had plastic on just about every inch of it; this would definately impress mommy. Lastly, we didn't want to put a big dent in our checking account either, but with all the stuff we were looking for in a chair, we were sure to be spending at least $80 or more we thought.

As we looked up and down the aisle for this perfect highchair, our eyes fell upon the Fisher Price Healthy Care Booster Seat. It was perfect!

1) It was small, but not so small that our child was going to outgrow it too soon.

2) It had 2 trays that snapped together and a lid for when not in use. We used the top tray that had the cup holder for when our son was eating breakfast or lunch when we weren't all together. Then we used the bottom tray for allowing him to color or play. Plus, the 2 trays would come off and allow him to sit with us and use our table too.

3) It had two ways in which it strapped to a regular sized chair so that we didn't have to worry about it wobbling or tipping over. It fit very snug!

4) It had 3 height positions leaving room for he baby to grow; which also allowed for an older child to sit in it, up to 4 years.

5) It was SO easy to clean! The trays and lid were ALL dishwasher safe. And the chair it self could be cleaned up with a washcloth within minutes (or seconds, depending on what was for dinner). No throwing the cloth covering in the wash and waiting of it to dry.

6) It can fold up to be approx. 12"x12"x6"; and the straps that are used for securing it to a chair, allows you to carry it on your arm when taking it out to a restaurant, grandma's house, etc.

7) It was less than $30.00!!! We walked out of the store feeling like we saved over $50 bucks!

I think that this was one of the best purchases I have made in all my 28 months of parenthood! It's true, I am not extremely experienced in motherhood itself, but I can say with confidence that this highchair is one of, if not, the BEST out there!
