I jumped the gun on the Fisher Price GeoTrax Train Set and bought it for my son when he was just over one years old. He loved trains at the time so I figured that his age didn't matter even though the age recommendation on the box was older. My mistake. Or should I say Santa's mistake since this was a Christmas gift?
While my son was excited about his new "choo choo," he decided that he would rather take the track apart and play with the pieces individually. This was after my husband spent an hour putting the entire GeoTrax playset together and I spent an hour opening the box...
read full review »Knowing how much our little girl loves trains, my husband thought it would be fun to get this for her. We bought it for her last year, before she was even 3 years old. It was easy for us to assemble and even easier for her to use.
This Geo-Trax train set is a wonderful toy. It gets a child involved in imaginitive play and gets the parents involved in getting down and playing with the kids. I know my husband and I take turns playing with our daughter. My husband loves to try and find different ways to assemble the tracks with my daughter. When he got her this toy he also bought her a...
read full review »My children really love the Fisher-Price Geo-Trax Train System. We bought the train system last year when it was close to Christmas time. We actually had a coupon and the store had it on sale for about 50% off. Wow! I was impressed with the price alone.
So when we got home we opened the package and we got the train pieces out and tried to design the layout of the train according to the box. We added batteries to the train and the controller and we were ready for train adventures.
My daughter loves adding her own 'people' from other sets so that the train station has many more people hussling...
read full review »I bought this train set for my 5 year old for a first real train set. It has been 3 years and many additional pieces later and he still plays with it. There hasn't been many toys over 3 years that I can say the same thing about. It is made with great construction and durability. He has stepped on the tracks and it never budged. I was really impressed with it. It is a bit difficult to snap the tracks into place. He did require some assistance with that when he first got it. He now has all of the airport pieces to go with it as well. It turns our living room into a huge city with...
read full review »We were hesitant to invest in another train toy since we have hundreds sunk into the wooden BRIO and Thomas sets,, but our 3 year old son insisted that Santa was going to bring him GeoTrax for Christmas! So we bit the bullet and Santa got them,, and WOW! We are super happy with them! He can't get the trax together on his own, but other than building the trax for him, he's totally able to do everything on his own! We LOVE that each train comes with it's own remote, so we got 3 all together so each of our older boys, ages 7 and 9, could play along,, with no fighting, and it works! The trax...read full review »
I love Fisher-Price Geo-Trax train systems. My 4 and 3 year old boys have no problem assembling the tracks without assistance and the pieces are easy for them to use. They can snap them together quickly and get right down to the business of driving their trains.
Once your collection contains several sets, storage can be a bit of a consideration since some sets have large pieces (Grand Central Station for example).
Also, I've found that the track pieces that let you split into two directions are all molded the same direction, so building complicated layouts takes a bit of planning.
Overall,...

He loves to see what differnt tracks and setups he can make. My 2 year old daughter also loves teh choo-choos. She is able to put regular track peices together with ease. Big brother has to help with the bigger and more difficult pieces. This is a toy that several children can play with at one time and learn about team work and sharing. This is another toy that will last for generations. Fisher-price has done well on these for sure!
We received the GeoTrax station as a Christmas gift, and it is this mom's favorite toy. It plays on many levels: as a puzzle (snap the train tracks together to form a continuous loop), as a remote control train, and as a dollhouse. The plastic tracks can be snapped together by a toddler, and so far we have had zero breakage after more than a year of play. I give away most of the toys we receive for Christmas (after a short period of use and after the kids get tired of them) because we have so many, but the GeoTrax are keepers.
My nephews got their first geo trax set 2 years ago for Christmas and every birthday, Christmas and just because chance we get, we add to it. Their first set of trains just barely died on them. They play with these ALL the time. They are hours and hours of entertainment for them. They were 4 and 2 when they got their first set and are begging for more this Christmas.
I plan on buying several sets for my own Son when he is old enough to play with them.
