buying for a preschooler, buying educational toys, A grandmother
The Smart Cycle from Fisher-Price was the must-have gift on my grandson's wish list. For a reasonable price of $89, I purchased this arcade system that combines a stationary bike with a software cartridge to keep toddlers entertained for hours. The setup of the Smart Cycle is relatively simple. You connect the bike to the A/V jack of your television set (TV not included, of course!), and then you insert the software cartridge into the slot. The child jumps on, and then pedals and steers the bicycle in order to start the game. The TV graphics include a variety of…

a protective mom, a fan of educational toys, a mom of imaginative kids!, a believer in creative toys, parent of toddlers, interested in fun for kids, looking for durability
My kids recently got the Fisher Price Smart Cycle. I have 3 boys and 1 girl (age 7, 5, 3, and 15 mos, respectively). My three boys would not leave this toy alone! They were constantly playing with it. I love the fact that it is so educational. It keeps them active, and learning, all at the same time. It is very durable - even after three rambunctious little boys are on it practically nonstop! It is fun for them, and gives mom a break when something needs done. There isn't really a downside to this toy. We just hooked it to the TV in their bedroom, and it left ours free. For a toy that is…

a fan of educational toys, a mom of imaginative kids!
This educational toy gives my very-active son an outlet for his energy that is safe and entertaining. He is learning to follow the directions of the activities as well as practicing patience since he can only use the toy on non-school days while his little sister is sleeping. It gives him something special to do on days he can't go to school. He doesn't quite understand how the computer part of this toy works and that requires me spending alot of time resetting the system, but he does enjoy playing with it and learning his letters, numbers, and shapes. —…

buying for a preschooler, a fan of educational toys
Besides running around the house, there aren't many toys that give my son the exercise he needs indoors on those cold winter days when we really can't go outside. He loves riding the bike, and at 3, learned how the games worked pretty quickly. He still doesn't quite get the hang of "steering" for the racing game, but at this point, that doesn't really matter. He's being active, learning numbers and letters and having fun. What more could a parent want from a…

buying for a preschooler, Every day computer user
Got this for my 3 1/2 year old for the educational value. Its turned out to be fantastic. It holds his attention longer than anything else we've ever had. Plus, the exercise is a bonus. The battery life isn't too bad. We have 5 games and unfortunately, one stopped working within a month of average use. My 6 year old and 8 year old want to take turns as well. Its well worth the…

I bought this for my grandson and he loves it. Keeps him busy and active on cold days when he can't run and play and ride his bike outside. And he learns at the same time! THe only problem is making the making him get of it and share with his little friends and…
