I purchased Elmo Live for our son this past christmas and he loved it. He is almost 2 now. I think it was great that he had a toy that spoke to him. He liked that part of it very much. Having Elmo Live speak to my child in a way that was not you typical "baby talk" can also help him learn a few words. The only problems with it really was when he tried to sit down if the stool is not just right behind him he falls over. Also because he says the same stories over and over again the kids tend not to pay attention to it for too long. But overall I would say it is a very nice toy for children at about 1 1/2 years old.
