Fisher-Price Dora the Explorer: My Talking Backpack Review Summary

Dora the Explorer fans get to become Dora, with the Fisher Price Dora the Explorer Talking Backpack. This inexpensive and durable toy comes complete with a map, binoculars, magnifying glass and camera so children can relive their favorite parts of this popular television show. For one reviewer, “the biggest hit out of it was the video camera. She would run around the house saying "SAY TEESE!" While both boys and girls, toddlers and preschoolers enjoy the toy some parents were disappointed with it. It is difficult to take toys in and out of the backpack and the accessories are not “real” as in the magnifying glass does not magnify nor does the binoculars allow children to see further away. However fans of the toy say that it “helps the kids imagine their in a safari, or going on a quest with Dora and Boots, ” while other children enjoy dancing to the song, “Backpack Backpack.” Children can learn one or two commonly used Spanish words from the television show. We LOVE this so much!! My 2nd daughter got this for her 2nd birthday and when I first saw it I rolled my eyes because I was thinking "GREAT, another talking toy" but once she opened it and started to play with it, we all got hooked. She would press the mouth and wait for a command and then would play with that toy! I think the biggest hit out of it was the video camera. She would run around the house saying "SAY TEESE!" and then would close the view finder. VERY CUTE. Also every time it would start the "backpack" song she would dance.

My two kids (boy and girl) loved playing with this toy! When they were really little, they sometimes had a hard time getting the toys in and out of the backpack. But I think it helped them learn how to turn the pieces just right to get them in and out. They loved taking the toys in and out and putting them back in again (I think that was their favorite), but they actually played with the toys as well. They would go around the house "taking pictures" with the play camera, and looking at everything they could through the binoculars and magnifying glass. I don't think the little bracelet...

It's Dora's Backpack, and that's about it.

My 4 year old loves Dora, so she loves the backpack. It comes with binoculars (that aren't real) a magnafying glass (that's not real) and a camara (also not real.) The toys are very boring...would have been better is the magnafying glass magnafied and if the binoculars did too. But when you push backpack's mouth she says all the fun backpack things my kids love and know. It's a little on the loud side, and very hard. Be careful when kids are running around with it. My son..... yes, son...... who is 2yrs old *LOVES* Dora. We bought it because there are not very many "unisex" Dora toys. When we went to the store to purchase a DORA toy for Christmas, we found fairytale & mermaid DORA and several other "girly" DORA toys. Sooooooo, we opted for this backpack toy. It actually is really cute & says phrases and plays the backpack song when you press Backpacks mouth. Plus it comes with accessories that you can actually put inside BACKPACK. My son loves it!

I bought this for my son--who HAD to have it--when he was 2 and he still plays with it occasionally 4 years later! My daughter, who is now 3, loves it. No, it doesn't have all the bells and whistles that a lot of today's toys have, but my kids use their imagination and act out episodes of Dora that they know! I tried to sell it at our garage sale last summer and was just about lynched; probalby the best $13 I spent that year!

The Dora talking backpack is a great way for children to learn some of the easier common spanish words. It includes accessories from the televison cartoon Dora The Explorer. As the children find it fun to play with, they also seem to get board with the accessories as they do not do much. For parents, they tend to be annoyed with the noise that the backpack makes when it talks because it is a little loud.

This is a wonderful toy for your child to play with. My daughter plays with this all the time and sings along with backpack. The toys inside "backpack" are tough and sturdy so that I don't have to worry about my daughter getting hurt while playing with this product. She is a huge Dora fan and LOVES to play with this!! 2 thumbs up!!!!

My daughter is a huge dora the explorer fan so when we saw the Talking Backpack, she had to have it. She does love to play with it. She takes her sister on "adventures" around the house and really utilizes all the different toys. But the backpack talks and it is so loud and annoying! I cringe everytime they push the button.

My daughter got this as a gift. She loves it and plays with the pieces all the time. The only downfall is she often has to come to me to get the camera in or out because it is a little large for backpack's opening. The way the camera flips open, it open gets stuck while trying to remove it.

this is a must have for avid dora the explorer fans!it matches the diego resue pack.it is very durable and colorful!very cute!it sings and talks to you in spanish!it is a very safe product to have if you are safety concious!no assemble required!encourages imaginary play!it is a very good bargain as well!

My child enjoyed playing with this set and taking it camping. It is good for the imagination but I found the backpack was a little hard to open and shut and needed some TLC. You can put other stuff in the backpack besides the accessories that it came with.

Originally a gift for my younger daughter, now 11, my son, age 4, has discovered Backpack and has a great time playing with it. It encourges imaginative play and he and his sister often recreate scenarios from the show or create their own with the accessories.
