I purchased the Fisher Price Brilliant Basics Stack and Roll cups for my youngest daughter (then 1 year old) a year ago for Christmas and I really wish I would have purchased two sets because my older daughter (3 years old) absolutely loves them as well and they end up squabbling over them a lot!  I think the bright colors and the stacking capabilities make this toy particularly appealing for many ages.  My oldest likes to build "cakes" with them and she serves them at tea parties, my youngest now likes to create balls by putting two together that are close in size.  They also make a great teaching tool for colors and counting.  These Fisher Price cups are also very durable, and they have held up to all kinds of toddler abuse!  They can also be used in many different play settings, and ours have found their way from the bath tub all the way to the sand box!  They could also be used with play-doh to cut out various sized circles and the textured sides can be used to create textures in the play-doh as well.  Honestly, I prefer wooden toys, but I think that even though this toy is plastic, it is well-made and should hold up to years and countless hours of play.

Wow, where do I start? This toy is not close to being one of the "gotta have it" toys considering the popularity of Fisher Price; that is just my honest opinion. It is not made with the best of materials either. I wish Fisher Price had used its time and hard work on something more durable.

Well, at the very least, it is a toy that can be easily manipulated-or should I say destroyed. It would be best for children under 2. It can be held by an adult as children place the shapes in the correct opening. It teaches size seriation if it can stay stacked long enougn. I am hesitant to say that children above 1 year can benefit, because my 16 month old does not seem to use it constructively. He would much rather see it thrown all over the place, or to knock it over before completely stacking. He thinks of it as something he can just knock down due to the fact that it does not securely stack or withstand the slightest touch.

I would spend money on something more worthwhile. It's just not sturdy. When the child goes to stack it, the previous piece falls off before he gets the others on top of it. The plastic is cheaply made. It is altogether a waste. The pros does not outweigh the cons.

A great, versatile, open-ended toy!

Comments about Fisher-Price Brilliant Basics Stack & Roll Cups:

We love this toy! It's useful for so many different things. They're number from 1-10 to help with counting, different colors help with vocabulary, they can be stacked but don't have to be stacked in order(i.e., you don't have to stack 9 on 10, all of the smaller ones fit too), the bowls can be placed into each other, the 10 different bowls snap onto each other to make 5 different sized balls which also fit into each other(great for travel!), and the little jingle ball can be played with by itself, inside the bigger balls to make a rattle, or on top of the stack to practice hand/eye coordination. Even Mom & Dad had fun figuring out everything you could do with them. We got these for my 7 month old son as a Christmas gift and the first time he found one, he spent a good 15 minutes inspecting the texture of the rims, exploring the hole with his fingers, banging it, etc. I've never seen him so engrossed in a toy. This is sure to be a favorite for several years to come, and I can tell it's good enough quality to last that long too!

LOVE these!

Comments about Fisher-Price Brilliant Basics Stack & Roll Cups:

I bought these for my first daughter for her 6 month birthday. She played with these by stacking them, shaking them, and rolling them. We would put them together to make balls, but we would put different items in them such as bells, blocks, rattles, etc so each one would make a different sound. When she got older, she loved to put pom poms through the holes as well as stick her fingers through the holes. They are very durable and sturdy. They fit together well when stacking and nesting. When put together as balls, they stay together. It took my daughter quite some time to get strong enough to pull them apart. She also loved to bang them together. They are very easy to clean too. They have lasted through rough play for over 3 years and two kids. Not only can you play with these by themselves, but you can use all kinds of different materials to enhance the learning and entertainment value. Highly recommend!

When I first bought these for my son I thought it'd just be a little ball for him to play with. Soon I realized that he could learn his colors, and learn to coordinate which side goes to which side. They're easy to clean and keeps kids entertained for awhile. I absolutely adore this simple toy.

Multi-functional toy!

Comments about Fisher-Price Brilliant Basics Stack & Roll Cups:

This is one of the best toys to buy and is very useful from the time your baby can stack toys all the way through the toddler years! You can stack these up, combine them in to balls, or hide objects under them to make them guess which cup has the object underneath. This is definitely a must have!

a little boring

Comments about Fisher-Price Brilliant Basics Stack & Roll Cups:

My daughter got these for Christmas. At first she was really interested in stacking them and putting them together, but that didn't last long. She got pretty bored with them and they ended up getting separated all over the house. My oldest daughter liked putting a little toy inside of them and pretending it was a present, but that didn't last long either. They sat in the toy box for a while, so I decided to go ahead and get rid of them. It's a cute idea, but my girls just weren't that interested for long.

Very Fun and Interactive Stacking Bowls!

Comments about Fisher-Price Brilliant Basics Stack & Roll Cups:

My son got this toy for his first birthday. He loves when his sisters play with him. They put the bowls together to make a ball, and my son loves chasing it around. It's even more exciting when they put the little rattle ball inside the bowls. He is always playing with this toy. His sisters stack them, and he attacks them, knocking all the bowls down. This is a great toy for all my kids to have fun together. Even my 3 year old has a blast stacking these bowls!

Fisher-Price Stack & Roll Cups perfect for ball loving babies.

Comments about Fisher-Price Brilliant Basics Stack & Roll Cups:

If your baby loves balls, the Fisher-Price Stack & Roll Cups are a great choice. They are inexpensive and versitile. My nephew received these first from my mom and they were such a hit with him, she bought them for my little guy. My son isn't quite as into balls as his cousin but still loves these because of how many ways they can be manipulated. The cups come in a stack of 12 with a ball face at the top. The ball face has a bell in it- it is pretty cute. The face reminds me of the old school Fisher-Price toys I used to have. The cups can stack on top of each other or connect to form several balls. Each cup can fit best with the ones directly above or below it in the stack. They come in very bright rainbow colors. There are holes on the top of each of the cups, which the face ball sits perfectly on. They also make it easier for babies to pick up and manipulate the balls. It is a great baby toy.

Great Developmental Toy

By

Comments about Fisher-Price Brilliant Basics Stack & Roll Cups:

My daughter (14 months old) was in the hospital for 5+ weeks, and I picked up this toy from Childlife. . . . You could just see her learning how to play with this deceptively simple toy. First she learned how to take the rings off, then how to put them on, then wearing the rings like braclets, then taking the rings off by "dumping" the stack, then pretending to wear the base like a hat, playing peek-a-boo with the rings over your eyes, etc. Some people mentioned how they don't like how the pole is tapered so all the rings won't fit if placed on out-of-order, but I like that feature. . . I feel like she will learn eventually how to put them on in order. It was refreshing to have a toy without lights, sounds, and batteries and be just as entertaining (at least at this age.) It is cheaper to buy elsewhere, though. This product has been made for years and years (my parents said I had one and so did my husband's parents) and there's definitely a reason!

Just bought stack and roll cups, and LOVE THEM

Comments about Fisher-Price Brilliant Basics Stack & Roll Cups:

My daughter just got these a few days ago for her first birthday. I read a positive review, and they were listed as a great one year old toy. I also am always on the lookout for a toy that doesn't require batteries but is still fun, colorful and engaging. These cups fulfill all of those requirements! When he first saw them my husband said "well what do they do?" What don't they do? My son, who is three, loves to stack them on top of each other, after assembling them as circles. They can also nestle inside of each other, or be inverted and stacked biggest to smallest to make a tower. My baby, honestly loves to knock down the tower and slam them together to make a loud noise. For a toy that is basically stacking cups we have gotten a lot of use out of them, and like I said, they are a sort of  back to basics toy that requires imagination rather than just being a toy that flashes and plays music while the kids stare at it!

It's Okay

Comments about Fisher-Price Brilliant Basics Stack & Roll Cups:

When i saw these I thought they were the coolest thing and was very excited to give them to my son.  He also thought that they were great, as long as I was there to do everything for him.  He had a lot of trouble getting them to click into place when he would try to make them into balls.  He had a lot more trouble getting them to stack than he did with the more traditional stacking nesting cups.  He did love the little ball with the face that makes the jingle sound.  These were always all over the place and caused a great deal of tears if Mommy wasn't there to make it work right.  Baby number two came along and same thing.  They fit too tightly for him to do on his own.  By the time big brother got old enough that he could manipulate the toy well, he was no longer interested it in.  It is inexpensive and a really cool idea, but just didn't work for us.  Surprisingly, my normally creative kids were too frustrated with it to try to play with it in different ways like they do other toys.
