Perfect for newborns!

4

This bouncer is really good for newborns and small infants. It is really cozy and soft. The design is simple and not overly tacky or gawdy. I like the clean and simple look. My daughter slept in this bouncer often as a newborn. The soothing music and light vibration was wonderful. It isn't too overpowering and very calming for baby. Downfalls? It doesn't bounce. It is stationery and only vibrates. Also, this will not work as the babies grow. It is a saucer/papasan shape, so legs do not easily hang over the front with any comfort. This seems very uncomfortable for any big babies that would have his/her legs dangling. As your child grows, this will probably be boring for your little one and he/she will probably outgrow it soon. However, for the use I got from this product, it worked very well. We moved up to a full size swing after she outgrew this bouncer. Also, by that time she was ready to work on tummy time and be on the floor!

My son loves this papasan but I don't

2

For the first 2 months my newborn slept in his swing or car seat would not sleep in his bed for the anything, even if he was already asleep. My parents bought this at a storage auction pretty much brand new, my son has not slept in his swing or car seat since. The downside to this papasan is that he slides out of hit when he is throwing a fit, the vibration is very minimal and the songs are kind of strange. If i could have it my way i would have got a different one. The colors are great and the material is of good quality. It is neutral for either girl or boy. It folds down very small and can fit under anything practically, portable, and easily washable.  I don't understand how they can get away with selling the papasan for so much money yet giving nothing in return. The only thing that this papasan comes with is a bunny mobile/toy that hangs above the baby and a mirror so the baby can see himself yet my baby didn't even notice it.

Fisher Price Papasan Seat is best for newborns

5

Fisher Price really knows how to make the baby seats. This papasan bouncer seat is truly the only seat that newborns can sit in comfortably. Most bouncer seats do not recline enough or don't have adequate supports for newborn heads. The vibrating is very soothing for little ones since it is not too jarring. While most music boxes tend to be annoying, the music on this seat is actually quite nice and soothing. The colors are even soothing instead of obnoxious.  The fabric washes well and is soft and cozy. The seat folds flat with just a couple clicks which makes it easy to take it to Grandma's house or even on vacation. I really like that the seat suspends the infant rather than just a fabric cover on a hard plastic chair. It really doesn't have much for toys, but by the time baby is ready to play with toys they don't like to sit in one spot anyway. Actually, your baby will likely go through a phase of not wanting to sit in this chair much, but as the toddler years arrive they will find new interest in sitting in it as it is a quite comfortable style chair for little ones!

The Fisher-Price Papasan Bouncer - infant seat, that's all.

Don't expect miracles from this product.  It worked as an infant seat for both my sons, no more and no less.  I registered for it 4 years ago because it received rave reviews online and in magazines.  People liked it's neutral coloring and said it was soft and plush.  While all of that is true, It really didn't work for my children the way I expected it too.  I had hoped the vibrating motion would soothe my babies when they were fussy.  It did not work that way for my children.  We used them almost more like a bassinet then anything else.  When they fell asleep we would put them in the bouncer so we could keep them in the living room with us.  It worked great from that aspect, as it is small and lightweight so we could move it from room to room with us.  In fairness, not all kids take to bouncers.  My first really preferred the infant swings and as soon as he was big enough we used that to soothe him.  My second was never really calmed by either a swing or a bouncer.

Really not worth the money

2

This really isn't worth the money. I got mine for free, so I am really glad I didn't waste my money on it. It's cute, and looks super comfortable... but I really don't think it is. Every time I put my son in this, he would slide down, even though he was buckled in. His head would never stay on the little pillow either. So he would end up virtually at the bottom with his little legs hanging off.   The plus side on this, is the music is cute, and I like how you can switch between just music, just vibrating, or both. I also like the fact that they do shut off by themselves, because that is one thing about my son's other bouncer. I was always forgetting to shut it off and the batteries would wear out quickly.

Very cute, but baby never took to it.

I was very excited to get this as a shower gift and to put my newborn in it.  Unfortunately, she just never took to it.  The bouncy itself looks very comfy and the vibrations and music are nice and soothing.  You can set it to music, or to vibrate, or to both at the same time.  It will shut off after a certain amount of time, which is a nice feature.  There is also a little bunny that dangles overhead and she enjoyed looking at that. The chair itself does not bounce, just vibrates.  Maybe my baby would have liked it more if I could have bounced her in it.  I tried every couple of weeks to put her in it thinking that maybe she needed to be bigger, but she just never liked it so it basically just took up space in her room.  I recently just gave it away to charity. The product itself seems very well made and has some very nice feature, but for my baby it was just useless because she hated being in it.

Must have for newborns!

First of all, it should be noted that this is NOT a bouncer at all.  It is not intended to bounce and does not.  I received a bouncer as a hand-me down from a friend but it was not suitable for babies who could not yet hold their head up as it had not type of support.  Because of that, I registered for this papasan chair and received as a shower gift.  My son used this from birth through 3 months.  It was a life saver and I highly recommend it.  It is very easy to get your little one in and out of as the leaf swings back.  My son paid no attention to the hanging toy or mirror so I even removed it some times.  He loved the music and vibrations.  It is very sturdy and easy to move.  It has a head support for your baby's head so it doesn't fall to the side while they are sleeping. We used this at many different times for example:  when I had to go to the restroom; beside the dinner table while my husband and I ate; I took it in the bathroom while I showered; my son slept in it while I folded laundry etc., I could go on and on. It is a bit expensive to use for only three months but I intend to have several more children so I will get a lot of use out of it.  It folds flat for easy storage.  The material is soft and washes well.  I washed it many times and it still looks new.

Would not have made it through some days without this!

Fisher Price has a true winner on their hands with this bouncy seat!  As a parent of two, both of my children loved spending quiet time in this seat.  I think this is a high quality product and has a great design.  The seat is soft and comfortable - nicely padded. The variety of music and vibration modes works perfectly for children with different personalities.  My daughter loved the bounce and music combination, but my son didn't care for the music.  Both of them liked batting at the little animal attached to the top of the seat.  Plus the mirror on top is a great way for little ones to start recognizing themselves. The fact that this seat can fold up is a definite bonus when space in the house is at a premium!  The buckle/safety strap is easy enough to use, but tough enough to hold in the squirmiest baby.  The seat removes easily for cleaning purposes and goes back on in a snap. Anyone with a baby should have this product!  Loved it!

I loved this and was able to get alot done

I got the pink papasan and used it for my daughter.  She loved it and so did I!  It has this great vibrate setting that is forceful enough to get attention yet gentle enough so that my daughter would fall asleep.  It is very easy to move from room to room and I could even carry it while my daughter was snuggled in it.  This papasan entertained my daughter and allowed us to be in the same room while I was in the kitchen cooking, doing laundry or taking a shower.  It is angled so that a baby can look around but still can comfortably fall asleep.  It folds pretty flat so it was easy to store this and tuck it away.  The little toys hanging from the mirror are attached with velcro so when my daughter could reach them, she would just pull them off rather than yanking down the whole mirror attachment.  Great safety idea!  I also appreciated the fact that there are multiple settings so the music doesn't always have to be on when the vibrate function is on.  It's a bit on the pricey side but I got it as a shower gift - perfect price range for that.

Absolutely love this thing

I must say I have had my Papasan bouncer since before my daughter was born almost 4 years ago.  It is meant mostly for younger babies, although it can hold up to 25 lbs.  I have used it for my daugter, and she loved it.  It plays music, has soothing vibrations, a mirror.  Just fun things for a little baby.  I would not however recommend this as a bouncer.  It is not really intended for bouncing.  More for having somewhere for your baby to sit and relax while other things are going on and you can't constantly hold your baby.  I have used this off and on for other children whom I have baby sat and they seem to enjoy it as well.  I usually have them sitting in it with a few other toys and sometimes even use it as a high chair.  I have had other parents comment on it and ask where I got it.  I really like it and would recommend it to anyone.  A few friends of mine also have this one and really like it as well.
