Having my children 14 years apart meant that I had to relearn all about the upgraded baby items.  This Fisher Price Papasan Cradle Swing was something that we registered for and were really looking forward to trying out.  I loved that the swing moves both front and back as well as side to side.  The Papasan seat cushion was so soft and snuggly.  The fact that it will go and go until I turn it off is a GREAT improvement over the hand crank types I had with my first child.  The design was so pretty and sweet that it was a pleasure to look at in our living room on a daily basis.  The very best part was when our new baby was first born she refused to sleep alone. This swing made it so that she felt safe and secure and allowed for the rest of us to sleep while she slept.  It's quiet enough to keep in the master bedroom if needed and is light enough to be portable.  The only drawback I found is that the swing slowed as she gained weight.  Otherwise it was perfect!

We bought a **Fisher Price Baby Papasan Cradle Swing** while we were expecting our first child. It was strongly recommended by a family member who had a baby born 10 months before ours was.     It was a life-saver. Our newborn son was actually very easy in every way except that he WOULD NOT SLEEP unless he was in my arms. Or in this swing. For a few months, this swing was the ONLY way he would take a real nap.     When my brother's wife was expecting, they asked me what I thought of this swing. I told them that I probably would cheerfully have traded a kidney to keep it.     Then when my second child was born, she napped easily in her bed from the beginning, so it wasn't as critical that time around. But especially in the first few months, it was a safe place from which she could look around and view the family from a nice perspective for a little while each day or so. Both children loved the mirror and watching the mobile go around. Being able to change the tilt as they grew older was great. For some reason, we never seemed to use the toy tray.   This thing is durable, and washes exceedingly well. My one caveat - and the reason for only 4 stars - is the batteries: it eats them. I liked the swing so much that I was willing to pay for all those D batteries. But Fisher Price now makes several versions of the Papasan Cradle Swing with an AC adaptor, and I would strongly suggest to anyone looking to make sure they choose one of those.
