We purchase our Fisher & Paykel Dishdrawers in Stainless about 5 years ago when we did a complete kitchen remodel. The cost was 3 times the price of other dishwashers. It made our kitchen look high end..and it still looks good. However, it has never functioned well. We were warned when we purchased it, that it was an appliance that requires extended warranty (expensive and frequent repairs). We bought it anyway and we have purchased the warranty every year since the initial purchase. As costly as the yearly warranty is, it is cheaper than the cost of 1-2 repair visits per year. This last time, we were told that the replacement part needed to be ordered - wait a week, then we were told it is on back order wait another 3 weeks. In the meantime, my husband went on line and was able to get the part in 3 days (we pay out of pocket). Now we have to see if the warranty repairman will put in the new part that we purchased. Long story short, this dishwasheer is different and pretty, but it always breaks no matter how careful you are with it. Over 5 years, we could have had at least 5 new dishwashers for what this has cost us.   Live and learn.

1. The dish drawer broke after 2 years. 2. It is so small I have to do 1 or 2 loads every day 3. The loading rack are not designed for maximum efficiency 4. The dishes often come out dirty and take a second washing to clean them
