The little straps hold it to the crib very well and the window doesn't scratch easily. The lights are dim enough that they don't wake the baby up. The lights rotate in the window and it plays about 5 songs that are traditional lullabys. This little thing was pretty neat, it's durable, we passed it on to our twin cousins and now they love it. My son still fusses that he wants it back, I think he used it as a way to stay awake, go figure.
