First National Bank of Omaha - Visa —

When I lost my job a few months ago, I was struggling to make ends meet. I contacted all of my cc holders and explained the situation. Bank of Omaha was one of two that refused to make any kind of concessions in order that I might continue regular payments. I worked with all my debtors, answered whenever they called, updated all my contact information truthfully and never tried to dodge their inquiries. I WANT to pay my debts. Finally, this past Sept., I found a part time job (pays min. wage) that would allow me to resume payments.

Contacted B of O Visa. Was enrolled in a special program where I would pay no interest and simply be set up on a two year payoff plan. Fantastic, right? I agreed, told them I would send in the payment, and all was well. Until the next day. Another associate called, I explained I had already accepted their payment offer, and was told that if I had sent in payment, I would have never been enrolled in their program b/c I needed to send in more than the quoted price. Not liking the sounds of that, I requested, and was denied, terms of agreement. I offered snail mail, email, fax...they flat out said they could not send any terms unless I made my first payment via phone with an associate. I didn't feel comfortable with that and told them so. The CSR then started on a barrage of insults until I promptly hung up.

A day later, another associate called. Same response. Tell me...what type of bank refuses...REFUSES...to send out an outline of terms of agreement when modifying a payment plan? Is it even legal for them to refuse to send it to me?

This from a bank whose response to my calling in the same day I received notice that I was being laid off and telling them as much was to raise my interest rates to triple what they previously were. She lost her job? Oh, well let's charge her even more money. Customer service is a joke. Even before my unfortunate circumstances, I found that speaking with a rep from BO Omaha was like nails on a chalkboard. They must train their associates to be jerks.
